Funny you mention 20K-30K Baht, I know & have know a few sponsored girls, one was getting 45K, another 50K and the other over 120K (admittedly from 3 separate guys!).
Some of the better Go Go Girls earn close to 100K a month in a good month! 15K won't cut much slack with them or buy much faithfulness!!

I like your concept. Actually many asian relationship is like that already. Most of guy I know, if they are the one break off the relationship, they will still sponsor the girl until she or he was able to support themself (of course within a reasonable time period e.g. 1-2 years). However, if girl is the one cheated, then sponsorship stop immediately.
Personally, I like abrak's approach (e.g. honest way) toward mia noi or gik. These girls is not going to be mia luang and it is much better in the long run to let them know that in the begining. IMHO, it will save you a lot of headache in the future.

Now of course she says she is faithful to you but you dont believe her, she also says you are 'still handsome man'.
Is this guy really stupid or is he entering a vaguely mutually beneficial arrangement? I mean he gets a thrill out of having a gorgeous 20 something girl with him on his holidays and maybe even a little thrill that he is enriching her life in some way. The fact that the 20 something Thai guy who is shagging her while she is away, thinks he is totally stupid is beside the point.

sorry, have to agree with bull in this case. if the retired US-guy wants to have a 6 weeks a year relationship with a bg, he calls her one month before he comes over and tells her he pays 4 to 5k a day. simply as that. I bet the buffalo wont be sick, either. anyways, that is the way, I would do it to. I would pay excellent and probably get a good service, too. my girl and I can still bullshit around that we are faithfull and all, which is good fun.

Hey Abrak. No offense bro but I think 15k will only get you a timeshare. I know that figure (15k) was arbitrary but agree with some of the bros that it is a little low in the market.
I have been in arrangements with a few of them.
For the ones that do not/can not/will not understand here is the deal. I personally got tired of the Bier Garten hit & miss (lot more misses than hits) starfish versus porn stars scenario. Now to your main premise. I had never considered it.

The part that amuses me is in Thai Society - is this taking of Mia Noi a joint (family) decision or is the guy sneaking around (as I am doing) ?

Unless I read about it on here or pattayatalk.com I never think about sponsorship and for the guys who engage in this silly practice. I've a gold mine in New Mexico and land in Florida I can sell real cheap.

Cannot go along with the topic you have raised. Lets say a girl from a poorer area of LOS, marries a Thai man and they are both in their late teens or early 20's. I assume they are married for the right reason, Love. They have all the marriage ceremony bit and a baby appears. The Thai hubby then leave's his wife and child.
The wife has a child or maybe 2, no income, but has her family. These people would not have any clue at all about contract binding arrangements, you can have it drawn up, give them some money and they think, WTF is this all about, they do not have any concept. And they are still by Thai law married to the original husband and they do not give a shit about paperwork or legal binding contracts. Where in LOS would you have this document drawn up and how could it be enforced, this is Thailand, anything goes.
The husband has a moral obligation to pay for his children etc, but he will not do this. He is out with another younger model, no kids and he himself has become a little smarter, so he would be able to outwit the new 'love of his life'.
I am only a casual visitor to LOS and you have lived there for 10 years, but that is what I have picked up. Like others have said before, pay them a good monthly rate when you get over there. They will look after you just the same.
If people can, then by all means send them money 5-15k month but do not expect that this will keep them out of the bars etc and sit at home and wait for you to return to LOS. How many times have you seen a TG driving by herself a late model BMW, Merc, Toyota or Nissan and thought to yourself, that woman does not fit the profile of an executive or she has rich parents, she probably is going around the different banks, Western Union offices collecting her money from overseas boyfriend (S).
Please tell me if I am way out of line with my thoughts.

30 years ago it was the wife's job to find the mia noi and give her to her husband. Now they tend to just sneak around.

If you have never considered it you might be wrong about the price too. I am not saying that I know the right price but I think a 'lifetime commitment' sponsorship would clearly have a lower price than the 'temporary' sponsorship.
