The one good thing about coming back to this site every day (while I'm at work) is that it helps to reinforce my desire to return to LOS.
All I find myself doing since my return home is to compare everything here to Bangkok, especially. Everything seems to dull and boring, people so hungup about work and World events, no f***ing food stalls to go to when I'm hungry, etc. Not to mention the weather.
I'm definitely moving to LOS to live forever.

'I'm definitely moving to LOS to live forever.'

Dont we all say this after every visit? Now if I could only find a job in LOS that pays the same as the job in the UK.

Too many overheads still to pay for even if I move to LOS (4 kids).

JackRabbit
JackRabbit present...

Yeah, speak about flashbacks...

I shut my door and walk the stairs down ...to the lobby of the hotel, go to front door...and receive a blast of icy wind.
I walk toward my favourite watering hole and turn around...corner of soi 5 going to Gullivers Tavern , pull the door open and...enter the bar in here.

Listen a certain music...sitting in FLB bar, feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around...to hear my buddy ask if I am OK.

Yes , I am not OK yet.

Yep it hits me everytime i come back and i have been at least well about 60 or 70 times.
I am sure it would not be the same if i lived there as i would have to work and not be able to play up and spend up like i can on hols.
I could not keep up the pace i set on hols on a regular basis and probably would kill myself if i lived there very quickly!!!
It is tempting to want and go and live in Thailand but unless you can make a lot of money or have alot of money  not worth it IMHO.

Hello all

Besides the Bitchy attitudes of the women here. I like living in the USA.  After my son is raised and on his own I will be free to go to the LOS anytime I feel like it. I will also have plenty of extra money for lots of trips over the big pond.
So I am content in my mind and at peace. Now the only thing that has to happen is makeing that plane ride back and forth faster LOL. Currently its a 25 hr flight there and 22 or so back. (from dayton ohio). So how does one accomplish makeing the plane ride faster???
Well my goal is to move to the Seattle area. This should take 5-7 hrs off my trip and I can be in LOS in less then 17 hr Thats not to bad Rock on guys

I agree Machine

Theres little point kiddin urslef that living there would be the SAME as a two week holiday. Far better to miss something and have something to look forward to - than to run the risk if the thrill going a bit stale.

hello all

Hey Whitespider its actally about a 30 hr trip if you count the drive time to the Airport from my  home near Dayton Ohio. Heres a idea of what I had last trip to the LOS. Get up at 7 AM shower, shave, shit, eat, and  drive to airport for 9;30am  flight to Chicago.  45 Minute flight to Chicago. 1 hr  30 min lay over in Chicago. Chicago to Tokyo flight 13 hrs 15 min. 1 hr 30 min layover in Tokyo. Tokyo to Bangkok flight 6 hrs 8 min  Clearing customs and immigration and money exchange 45 min -1 hr.taxi to hotal. 15-20 mins. checking into hotal 10=20 mins = ETA from home to hotal 30 hrs= your one tired mofo when you get there. However see my story in Field reports 1st 2 hrs in thailand and you know why its all worth it. Rock on guys

It may be a 12 fligt from London but you have your 3 hour check in before departure and before that a 4 hour drive from where I live in the Uk to the Airport add on waiting time and you are talking about 20 hrs of travelling to get to LOS.

That does not include disembarkation, Luggage collection, Passport Control and taxi to Hotel.

God I love that ride from the airport along the expressway to Sukhumvit.

I feel I am home then.
