Yeah I know the feeling of wanting to come back. Since I was a teen I have always wanted to go to LOS but living in Toronto, Canada it was not exactly that close. However things changed last February as my company sent me down to Australia on business. What I did was to take a week vacation and extend the Oz plane ticket. Then I bought a Bangkok ticket in Oz and took off on my adventure of a lifetime! I arrived in Bangkok at 3am, not knowing anyone there and only knowing what I had learned on the Internet from websites and chat boards like this. I per booked a room at the Marriott playing it safe. Very expensive hotel but since it was my first time and I was alone I didn't want to stay any place I may not feel safe. What I did find was that the Nana hotel next door would have been just fine and plan to stay there on my next trip. Well I had 4 full days of fun and got laid 5 times. Did everything I set out to do.......did the 2 girl soapy massage thing f***ing 2 girls at the same time. Fulfilling 2-life time fantasies in just 90 minutes! I left the Land Of Smiles with a big smile on my face, I have not stopped thinking about Bangkok since I have returned home and have easily talked 2 of my best friends into coming with me on my next trip this November.

Hi,
I'm 55, retired and have alot of free time on my hands. I'm from Philadelphia, PA I've been to Thailand 6 times over the last 2 years and would move their if I didn't have a young child living with me. I'm a disabled Vietnam vet who found out I love Asian women when I was stationed in Vietnam. I have lots of different interests and enjoy life. I hope to attend a roundtable in late July/August. Hope to meet some the guys who are on here.

Hey Guys
I am really enjoying this forum, it helps to pass the time until my next visit. I am 59 from New Jersey just outside NYC, and have visited Pattaya and Phuket several times. This past March I came to Bangkok for the first time and discovered what I have been missing as Bkk has a flavor all it's own. I love Thai ladies and enjoy meeting as many expats as possible when I visit. I will be retiring soon and am seriously considering Thailand I like the Kwai River area outside of Konchanaburi and will be sizing up Kalasin Province on my next visit. I am a low maintenance guy don't need many bells and whistles.

certainly no bells or whistles in Kalasin ! - you'd be there a month and still wouldnt know if world war III had broken out, - still, I guess thats OK ! It is very remote however, the township itself doesent even have a major dept. store, and although it seems quaint for a start, the novelty of living in "Ban nok" [ upcountry] with no English TV, hot water, and no one to speak English to for weeks on end, does tend to send some "stir crazy" - Kanchanaburi not so bad, Korart is good, as is Khon Kaen. Best of luck anyway, - plus they always can use an extra hand in the rice planting season !

555 - well Liftoff, would certainly rate Ubon ahead of many places, has some plus's 1. Has an airport - with a few flights to BKK daily, 2. Only 50 ks to Pakkse border crossing [Laos] if you need to update a visa, 3. Amper Muang [ City] at least has a few department stores, KFC, MacDs, Pizza etc, - so yes, Id give it a pass, - but the important thing if possible, is to keep an aprtment in the town, not stay too long out in the backblocks [Ban nok] in any province - and if you have a girl in tow, she will be happy to alternate between the city and her home, plus Thais understand we prefer a few comforts, e.g. hot water, satellite TV, flush toilets etc ... One thing, very cheap to live upcountry, you would rent a semi-reasonable apartment in town for about 4000bt a month, or a 2 storey Thai style towhouse, which is a good option if your looking at long-term - can always open the english school downstairs, for around 8-10,000. - oops, went past the 2 lines ....

that is the kind of bird eye rating I am looking for. My friend sent me the internet address http://www.guideubon.com, but most of it is in Thai and it emphasizes more the festivals and the scenic atractions.
I suspect the next thing is to go and check it out......, hmm, wonder what I am getting myself into here.
