Remember when in BKK as a tourist, you are not just competing against other farangs from the West for their goods and services, but also competing against affluent Asians from Japan, HK, Taiwan, Korea and now more and more, China. If word is out that all white farangs are "cheap charlie", and all Aisans are "generous", guess who get the cab first ? How about the girls,? you say. The funny thing is since the farangs' taste of Asian girls are usually far off the mark from what the Asians consider " pretty ", the farangs who think they are getting a great bargain from this "pretty asian girl" are actually no bargain at all since these " bargains" are considered the " uglier" ones that the Asians will never pick. I have seen many pics of TBG's posted on the MB by other farangs boasting of what a great score because she is so pretty and only costs 500 bahts. If you show the same pics to an Asian from the above mentioned affluent countries, you will hear comments such as " my maids are prettier than that " sort of thing. Of course, everyone has a budget and should stick to it. But being cheap is a whole different thing then sticking to a budget. The "Indians" (from India) are known to be "cheap" ( rightly or wrongly ) and the Japanese are known to be "generous". And they are both Asians. If you were Thai, who would you serve first ? the Indians or the Japanese ?

I think 6000 a month is plain exploitation. I have a girlfriend that can spend that in a day. She never asks for money, and if she annoys me doesnt get any. But thats different she is my girlfriend. And when she comes from the north to see me, or I see her. I am happy to let her little arse loose in the malls, while I go whoring, and play pool. In big usa s case, he sees it befitting of her to accept 6000 baht. And for now she my well be better of copping it, rather than wait for the johns. Pattaya last week had several very desperate beach side girls offering themselves at a tiny rate (about 8 dollars). The rain, the police, and the relatively quite farang numbers, led to some almost begging you. I pass, and in two cases gave 50 baht as I did so. My point is woman will do what they must. And his girl (big usa) might be happy with that arrangement. But surely pal you can pay more than a couple of hundred baht a day? Its none of my business, and I can image theres some around like her. But do we need to be like that also? In conscience (even with a mute deaf girl) a fee must outweigh the experience. And 200 baht, and a feed/movie, doesnt seem much. I wouldnt view it as exploitive were you thai, but farangs should have more to give than that surely?

Good point - however there is someone for everyone at every price. I have come across that very scenario where there were 4 Japanese at a go-go and none of the girls were giving me the time of day - reminding me that it is all about the money. So I left - no hard feelings - off to a different markert.
Hopefully I am not ruining anyones fanatasies here but it really boils down to supply and demand. I have been very lucky in BKK mostly because I have a very reasonable budget to play with. I don't overpay nor underpay and I tip generously based on service and treat the girls with a great deal of respect. I always smile and I am a pleasant drunk 
If I had a lower budget - I probably would concentrate on 5's as opposed to 7's and 8's (not in the 10+ budget range). If you are in the markert for a Ford Pinto u do not walk into a BMW dealership.

I cant agrue that, its true, some asians in polo stare, and leave. But they are hardly sticking their dicks in them, usually its a tour. And the girls there do fine, for every cheap arse theres 7 generous ones. My point was, is she likely to become a girlfriend later? Does she really know your just a punter?

Get real and realise that for say a measly 100.000 baht (approx 2.600 usd or 2060 eur) you could have a couple of fantastic - and at the same time being generous! - weeks in Thailand, whilst the same amount in US or Europe at tops take you to a sh_t charter tour with walking lukewarm buffets and fatassed widows at the beach.
In France, we usually don't like to speak about the money that we earn, but I worked once for a couple of years at the french subsidiary of an american company. My american collegues do speak easily about money matters and I learnt that, for basically the same job, their salary was twice mine.
Don't guess why many westerners visit Thailand but a very few thai people travel abroad? Most of them cannot afford the flight ticket price!
Different places, different costs, different salaries...
A thai person working (voluntarily) in the P4P market earns far more than the average national income in Thailand.
Some facts:
- I know one thai girl who was able to build a small house (thai style) with only 50,000 baht!!!
- With 100,000 baht, you can buy 10 metric tons of lao rice!
- With 100,000 baht, my thai wife will give half to her family, then with the remaining 50,000 baht, she would probably buy more than 100 shirts or pair of shoes, some gold jewellery and three or four dozens of VCD-Karaoke! And I am a lucky man because she doesn't drink nor play cards or gamble with "friends"!
My advice? Don't be overgenerous but be fair according to the living standard in this country...

BTW, I've heard those tour groups get charged a 500 baht entry fee per person. For that, they're each presented with a scrap of paper with 'VIP' printed on it in big letters!.
