Clever thread !
I have met several members and have been pleasantly surprised by a few that I thought marched to a different beat.
Few observations:
The most opinionated and political members I have met weren't so opinionated or steadfast in their beliefs when in a face to face environment. This is a case where the pen is mightier than the sword.
Some of the "studs" were not so studly 
I have found that individuals are far more respectful in person than when they are posting.
Overall I would say that 95% of the Board Members I have met are good guys who share a common interest - LOS and having a good time.
I have noticed that the "flamers" you know who u are and many I have met face to face are unremarkable in person and really do not have much to say -actually kind of timid and meek.
Abrasive and Brazen on the board does not translate face to face.
