Great post, ABC.
I know in my case, I seldom post anymore for two basic reasons:
1) Far and away, the main reason is that I haven't been to BKK for over a year, and my superficial information - "who/what/when/where" - is a bit out of date. There doesn't seem to be much depth to the current crop of new posters, and the richer (and to me, more interesting) info doesn't have much of an audience here. I think you could count this forum's Thai speakers on one or two hands, and most of them aren't posting. (This doesn't include the Pimsleur 2-week wonders  )
2) The WSG crowd is branching out, and bringing their ethics and proclivities with them, and I find it distasteful. My foremost interest here is Thailand; getting laid is part of it, but a relatively small part. The WSG guys are pretty one-dimensional, and don't have much to say, if it's not about pussy.
Fun times in the past had guys like MrJoe, Yurune, even CJ/Sauron, and Arcadius (he still posts interesting stuff) (and many others) talking about richer topics than "which bar has mutant dwarves, who do anal, while rubbing salt on your body..."
Now, it's endless mind-f***, or battle-royale, or clueless newbie stuff, without rest. So, there's less to be gained by posting.
Luckily, I believe, these things are cyclical. BK has all the right stuff in place; after a while, a new crop of interesting posters will emerge. At least I hope so...

I'm quoting myself because I realized that this sounds a bit, well, arrogant.
As an example, whatever my argeements/disagreements with Nokna, HE posts about Thailand. Sure, it's a narrative about the women he has met, but it IS rich in things Thai. It's not: "She sucked my dick and I came 14 times". It's about what it's like to be involved with Thais, for better or worse.
Now, field reports are starting to sound like Army training films.
Anyway, I hope this illustrated the difference.

Good post, haam sup - I have to agree with you.
I was asked to post a field report recently about an encounter I had with two ladies from the Soi 7 beer garden but I thought, "that's my business and why would anyone be interested in my sexual activities anyway?".
I'm keener to post a field report on my up-coming visa run. I think that would be more beneficial than stories about x amounts of ejaculations.

i will agree with PL69 and Haam Sup in saying that ABC came up with a good post.
funny that this thread is starting to attract older members with their comments about things.
that to me is a good thing and if they are lurking i wish they would return and just have fun.
maybe many of them have said all they think they can say,but they can still come here and just post inane posts.
after all,so many newer members do the same,they don't post anything interesting or relevant.
it seems to me(and others) that a lot of the older members have been silent since the new Forum rules came into place.
my views are well documented about this and i got a lot of shit thrown at me,but surely i am allowed my say?.
and don't forget many of the new rules were bought in because newer members complained about the the way things were.......
things were much better before IMHO.

Fastmover complained about older members having a go because members have/had a go at newer members because of silly questions asked.
an example?.
BK Boiler has just made a reference to him losing his Virgin status on the board and wondering why?.
this is a VERY OLD subject and easy to find the answer to,more than one thread on it.
why is it so hard to find the answers?,another example of 'do a search',why could not BK Boiler be bothered to do a search?.
but i will probably be deemed to be in the wrong for having a go at him.
but to me he was lazy and did'nt bother to do any research,the answer is on the Forum.
but some people are just too f***ING LAZY.
and then they wonder why people leave?,people just get fed up with all the idiotic things going on.

I don't think this is(or should be) what is driving the old members away, I hope they are just lurking. I personally have learned a lot through this forum and experienced members so I hope it stays informative like it is now, with less flame wars

Well, there are some relatively newer members whose posts I have enjoyed thoroughly, for their humor, their tolerant insight. In particular, I remember that really magical image painted by Chicago Guy of his TG bouncing up and down in the waves on Koh Samed with the wide-eyed innocence of a kid. So thanks to the newer members who have enriched me as well.
