There's always Bamboo or Bamboo Mini-Me (off Suk on Soi 3) as a low-key start.
On cmore's last trip, he started his every evening with a beer at Bamboo Bar. I joined him a few times, I might do the same every evening of my next trip. It was a good way to start the night and meet up with any members who wanted to stop by.

Went to Coliseum a couple of nights ago with some Thai friends .... good food, drinks and decent Thai show with good funny female singer and so so male singer. About 60% of mixed tables, 20% of only men tables and about 20% of only girls tables.
Very very very Thai place. I think I was the only farang and also the oldest customer in the pace.
Good for just talk, drink watch and eat. But no a place for a quick pickup -but perhaps a place where to get started with just general talk with fellow bros.
I would go anywhere for RT, but I would for a change prefer a more Thai place than the farang dominated bars.
Coliseum may be good for the location, but I think Yes, Indeed and Brew Pavillion are nicer.

yeah colisisum is a fun place, but brew pavilion have better home brewed beer especially if one's into wheat beer.

Pardon the digression, but it seemed to my limited experience, at least, that a good ale is a rarity in LOS, while lagers abound.
I'll take a good ale any day over a lager though. Any others so inclined? Would Brew Pavillion be ale central?
