IMHO, the prices aren't being jacked up here, it's back in the other places that we need to lead this protest!!

I had a P4P discussion with some Thai mates of mine yesterday.. good stuff.
Their office is near Landmark at Nana, so they've seen plenty when cavorting about with their expat workmates. (or on their own, could be)
They found it hilarious that Whitey is paying too much for pussy.

they also indicate that those rich Thai-Chinese you are talking about are actually adopting their habits from what they've seen rich tourists do, and are trying to outdo them.
the suggestion that the Thais are peaved about Whitey raising prices of P4P, that's not true either.
if they aren't bothered, then neither am I...
The Sapahn Kwai section (Suttisahn) is 110% Thai. When I've gone there, I'm the only white guy around.
but the pricing is NOT any better than the Pattaya bars, and the service is sub-par. Actually, pricing is higher than Pattaya, but still less than Nana, but the selection in Nana is heaps better and so is the service.
so all of you out there ranting that I'm jealous and/or obtuse can just
SHADDUP !!!

Well, you can add me to your list LY. I probably pay too much and, frankly, I don't give a damn. I am either as generous or as tight-fisted as I feel like being at the given moment. I'm certainly not going to let factors like the macroeconomics of P4P impact my decision.
Hell, i've even given a girl 1000 bht one night just cos I liked chatting with her. She wanted me to take her. I said I wasnt looking that night and she said, ok, you nice guy, I'll chat with you anyway. I told her to feel free to find another guy, but she was happy perched on the bar stool next to me.
I was leaving town the next day. I had by taxi fare and airport tax taken care of. What was I gonna do with 1000 baht? Change it back? Hardly worth the bloody effort in my view.
Why did I do it? Cos I wanted to and no amount of control economy bullying by LY or others will change what I feel like doing.
