lived in thailand 4 years retired when I was 28 years.
Have not been home for 2 years I do not miss it but I am getting very tired of Thai food must be a 2 year crisis.

Been 3 times LOS 3 to Malaysia & Singapore, coming over in little over a week for at least 3 months (one way)
Family tradgedy made me realise life is short and it was time to do what I wanted to do with my life, so sold the business, house, sold the Porsche yesterday : ( got rid of the girlfriend, give my 2 dogs away & at last I am raedy for some travelling - who knows might never get past LOS!
Its took me 2 years to get this far & now finally I've got the bags packed!
Maybe see some of you soon

Moved here just under two years ago, living 10 minutes outside Pattaya.
Retired at a young at heart 50, with no regrets so far.
Bought a house against advice, and then another a few months ago using the first one for some rental income.
Spent the couple of previous years planning and dreaming about making a life here after many holidays, marrying a Thai lady and getting her UK visa sorted to the to help with the final big sell up in London.
Family, friends and the ex wife thought I was crazy, but the last 2 years have been the best in my life.

Sorry about your tragedy, otherwise your choice sounds really inspiring! BUT - how the heck could you give the dogs away?! Wife or gf I can easily understand - but the DOGS?! Have 3 of my own and would surely take them with!
