Just for the record: JJ and I have different veiws about the appropriate content of this board. We both know that. But in fact I think JJ may have a more accurate veiw than my own. I want the board to be more like the way I imagine, but in reality it may not be that at all.
In any case, even if I don't agree, I think for the most part JJ has a very valid and fair position on this issue.

most of us here have been pissed off/flamed at one stage or another,just relax,count to 10 and continue to be a member.
women on the board are a rarity,but very welcome and offer a different insight into things.
some people might like a different point of view,but others will not.
i meant my post a few back about getting in touch and talking,might help to vent the anger.
when i was a newbie on this board,i had a lot of shit thrown at me for something i admitted,but i weathered the storm and now i like to think people see me as a kinda o.k. guy.
i have never met anybody on this board,but have made some good friends by either posting or keeping in touch by PM and that is what i like about it.
people have told me things about themselves they would never post on the board and vice versa.
you might find the same if you continue.

Well I for one hope you have not bowed out X. There's an old saying in my neck of the world that goes like this " it's better to be pissed off than it is to be pissed on ". All the things said, no matter to whom it is said cant possibly be the right thing. Concidering the fact that not everybody here is from the UK, or America, or Thailand ect... Point is different culture and ways of expression run rampant here, but it makes this forum diverse and exciting, and fun. Do me a favour and stay, re-read this whole thread that you started word for word and I realy think you'll see what I mean. I for one still look forward to a long life of post exchange with you and everybody else here....

I misjudged (misinterpreted) MrJoeís words, maybe I have misinterpreted more things. ÝIíve sorted things out with MrJoe. My apologies were accepted graciously.
I donít really know where to start with the rest of it, I hope the following makes sense. ÝI wished Iíd just raised my middle finger to it all yesterday, ignored it and went and had a smoke and a mars bar.. but nooooooÖ I dive right in without even asking for clarification.

ÝYour comment about PC-ness - I certainly did grab the wrong end of the stick ñ my apologies. ÝI thought (wrongly) you meant I was being too p.c. or imposing p.c-ness on others. ÝI do think you have a valid point about ìtreating me differently because I am a womanî ÝBUT, I donít really think that was the case. ÝWhere pc-ness reared itís head Ýwas when PL69 greeted me with the ìhi, do you take it up the assî welcome. Ý(personally I tend to agree more with seubeu that it wasnít pc-ness but everyday common courtesy, fairness and even-handedness ñ but I donít want to get bogged down on the semantics of the definition of p.c. or what defines ëgetting on the white horseí) ÝNow if PL69 greets the next new guy that walks in the door with the same greetingÖ then I wonít blink an eyelid and Iíll take back what I am about to sayÖ ÝI think we all know though that was only asked purely because I am a woman.

I donít want treated better/differently than othersÖ but surely the same courtesies given to a male member can be extended to a female member. ÝI spent quite a while reading through old posts before I joinedÖ I have yet to see one where a new member was greeted in that way. Ý(Again PL this is NOT a dig at you! I know neither of us had our claws out, it was in jest)
*Side note, with the exception of that one comment, I MUST add everyone DID extend the same courtesies to me.
I can deal quite easily with that type of innuendoÖ I neither asked for, nor wanted anyone to ìjump to my defenceîÖ but I have often ìjumped to the defenceî of someone who was getting what I thought was a bum-dealÖ not because I thought the person on the receiving end couldnít handle it, or needed help, or was trying to be a knight in shining armourÖ noÖ just cause I disagreed with the initial bum-deal-statement. well you should have known that this forum is mostly about woman and in most guy's eyes i think they prefer asian woman for reasons of their own.
But you did know what you got yourself into when your first mail was 'hi , i am a woman can i talk as well?' 'woman' has a certain magic sound here, and i do believe some of us would hate each other in real life.
for some of us are most likely to be too soft and others too hard. I prefer woman who stand their ground and make up their own minds...i will not treat woman any different then man, once again ..bad people everywhere.
