Guess where you know your way around is comfortable, I reckon Melbourne in Cup-week is HUGE ... and love the way everyone is so sports orientated, also had a share in a trendy pub in the 90's called The flower, in port melbourne, Sundays saw a queue a mile down the street trying to get in, so I had good buddies, seats at the MCG, pals with owners of many good restaurants, notably the flower drum, so by and large I rate melbourne ... but as i say, much like bangkok, if you dont know anyone, or dont know your way around, it maybe is not so appealing -

Sydney seems to have a very sad and exploitative side to it. While brothels are legal, they are heavily mixed up with drugs and the underworld. To illustrate the point, one such story can be read in the Sydney press here.

TPE, hey I knew that place, the flower, it was a nice spot although I first went there around 97/98. I also agree about cup week, that is huge and same as Grand Prix week again huge and the atmosphere is great, so for 2 weeks it is a great place.

Yeah "the flower" was big in its day, - which was mid to late 90's, Sunday was the go, had some top bands play there, and also a buddy, Peter Couples, - that sort of thing is the one thing I miss in Asia, - mind you, there are some not bad alternatives !

I didn't open a new thread but I want to tell of my recent experience with TPE.
After coming to the Middle East, I have had a problem develop in Pattaya that required some rapid and firm action.
I tasked TPE with the chore and he has performed admirably. Without going into any detail, he has handled the problem in a manner to my complete satisfaction and the problem is no more.
I just want to tell our illustrious members that TPE did a good job for me and I am a satisfied customer. I can and do recommend him.

" The flower " hmmm was great place to pick up for a Sunday arvo / evening shag, great pub !
Well if you btf members get a chance to see Melbourne you wont be diapointed, great Pubs, good food and a good city to get around, great public transport ie trams.
You cant really compare Sydney and Melbourne each is good in its own way.
I live in Melbourne.

It's not even really a part of Australia,, Mexicans live there in those parts "South of the border".
99% of the worlds population are unaware that there was very nearly a civil war between NSW and Victoria which explains why our Capital city Canberra is in the middle of nowhere and APPROXIMATELY half way between Sydney and Melbourne ( but closer to Sydney).
They all know we ride Kangaroos to work but know little of our history except the convict part.
