as some might already know i will be leaving bangkok. due to the bad business situtation headquarters in germany has decided to close the farang position in thailand and only operate with khun thai's.
i will not return to germany (do i look stupid or what??) but will take an offer from a big organisation to work in kabul (yes, kabul in afghanistan). details are still being discussed, but everything should be settled within the next 3-4 weeks.
i will keep you informed.

It has been a long journey so far. Nice time and lot of fun. I was surprised to know you will make the move before PINGA but that's life. Any change/move for good becomes most of the times the best decision a person can make.
Remember that a truly friendship, even when sometimes some of our points of view don't concur, always will be on top of anything else.

I truly find this thread hard to believe. Phantom V could never ever go anywhere that does not have a Soi 5 Gullivers, or Soi Cowboy.  Oh, the humanity!
PV- if your not shittin, can you find another gig in BKK? the North Pole or Antarctica would be favorable to Kabul. Cept they don't have a Gullivers there either.
I appeal to all brothers out there to find a position for PV so his ass can stay in Bangkok! Bangkok needs this talent. The forum needs him. Can you imagine the post in the thread "Anywherz outzide Thailand" and PV posting on Kabul exploits. "yeah, man spent a day trying to find a BG, only came up with a half dead sheep".
PV and me have history too you know. I met this pissant online, and whined and bitched with and at him, in the standard American tongue fashionable at the time, his Teutonic responses equally annoying. We became instant and fast friends. 3 weeks ago cemented our friendship meeting in Bangkok for a wonderful night of drinking and mongering on Soi Cowboy, in a very informal, unofficial RT, including a number of smegmatas, and luminaries from this board.
So my friend, if indeed you must go, understand you've touched many in your travels, (BG's too!), and you'll stay my friend forever, wherever you are. Afganie girls arn't that bad though. ABC can find you some links to Pakistany, Indian, and Afganie girls. Pretty fine stuff out there.

@TWD: LOL my friend! good one! I'm tried to get something in LOS, but all offers suck! it's not about money, i've got some really good offers, but the point is that my "boss" would be thai and there is no way i'm going to work for a thai! farang boss (even US-American!! muhahah) anytime, but thai? thanks, but no thanks!
just imagine my field reports from kabul! muha! went to gogo bar, bar fined girl, came under fire on the way to s/t hotel! LOL!! i'm gonna keep coming back to bkk if i make it in kabul and hope to see ya!

@expatchuck: yeah..strange feeling man! after 18 months in bangkok going to kabul. i had the option for germany, but europe sucks! economy is down and with over 5mio. unemployment in germany god knows how the future there looks like.
yep! i'll be in tehran quite often if this kabul deal gets finalized! funny thing is, my parents are in tehran! LOL!
i'll be working as a logistics operations officer for different organisations in afghanistan. there's indeed a lot of work! but chances for europeans are better than in iraq, since "everybody" supported the war in afghanistan. the only thing which makes me feel a bit scared is the fact that they guy (english dude) whose job i'm gonna get (90% keep fingers crossed), was shot about 3 weeks ago and passed away in coma last week. so my parents and friends are not so happy with me going there..
