I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be leaving LoS in the near future.
My wife and I are heading to the US Embassy tomorrow, to see about visa's for her, her daughter and our 1 year old daughter. As soon as we get the visa's for everyone we will be heading to the States.
The problem lies with work and money, not with LoS itself. I have been happy ever since I arrived here 3 years ago, and I would not trade the experience for anything in the world.
I have been playing solitare at work for the past 2 months, 8 hours a day. I can't take it anymore! I am making 50k baht per month, which is just enough for us to speak by. I know that in the US, I can make 50k dollars per year. This will allow us to save money for our return to LoS.
This is not a permanent move, we plan to move back in approx. 10 years. Saving money will be our main objective.
Unless any of the brothers can help me out with a new job that pays more, Krypto's time here in LoS is coming to an end.

good luck with the move. You are already set in the relationship department, so life will be good. I might be looking to spend a few years over there after a couple more trips. I'm too new to think that far ahead. Life in the states is not so bad. As you have said. You can save for a return, when you can't stand living here any longer!

Good Luck with the move, I changed Countries 3 times, the first months are tough but once settled it can be good. I hope to meet you before your departure.

I'll be doing the reverse soon, moving to LOS for a while, but I understand where you are comming from, been caught in that situation myself before. Mind you, I'd be happy if I could pick up a 50K job there to get me started in LOS. 
Good luck with the move and I hope everything works out for you and maybe I can catch up for a brewsky before you go.

Thanks guys,
It has been a hard decision to make. But I look at it this way. I got what I came for, a Thai wife and daughter, and to learn to speak Thai. So, why shouldn't I go back and make some money and retire here early? The children will get a better education, health care, and learn to speak english very well.
Plus, it is alot harder to cheat on your wife in the States. So, maybe my wife and I will get along better also?

Sorry that I missed you this month but these things have a way of working out. Wish you all the best in your move. The English skills will undoubtedly help your daughter and prepare her for a better life when she grows up.
You can still post on BKK Tonight though so please keep in touch. When I move back to Pattaya, I will make the occassional trip to Happy World and keep you posted.

Certainly with a young family it puts a different slant on things - likewise I may retire from LOS before too long, maybe a job for you TT !!
