This girl is pretty, but ST is US $350/hr ( 14,000 bahts) and LT is US$1,200 ( 48,000 bahts ) for a half day. It's about 10 times more expensive with ST and 20 times more expensive with LT. I understand where you're coming from, but there's a bit of inconsistancy, in your two statements.
If everyone followed advice to be "generous" in comparison to other countries, then it would not be long before we were not so "lucky" - is that not so?
Might it not be better to say, "Be generous in your personal treatment, and be happy to pay the going rate?

CC, I like your statement. But it is inconceivable that even if you are slightly more generous ( I am only talking about a 5-10% of tips or gifts or dinner.....etc) than the Cheap Charlie Squad, that you will inflate the price of the BKK girls to even come close to matching your home country p4p price. Especially if the girl is special (not those hardened pros) and treat you well, then I say we should treat them well financially and as a human being. I also think that the good hearted ones will aknowledge your generosity and give you more back in return. The hardened pros, stay away from them ! The art of negotiation is not just to focus on price alone. There are many more things that you can negotiate if you think outside the box. Reward the good ones well so they can stay happily in business and penalize the sleeze. That's how the market should work. Here is a case study for you : Let's say you go into a restaurant, and the food and the service is particularly outstanding, and let's say the bill came and they forgot to charge you for the wine. Do you volunteer to tell them the discrepency and happily pay it or do you secrectly thank god for your good fortune, pay the wrong amount and quickly walk out of the restaurant feeling like a winner ? If you want to keep that outstanding restaurant open, do not make them lose money. Let them make money, encourage them to make money, so they can stay in business and increase even more the quality of the food and services. When a good restaurant starts making good money, the other good restaurant will open to compete for the same customers. The market force take care of the ups and downs of price. Sure, you want to know the market price, but give them a tip, buy them a small gift as token of your appreciation. The real market spoiler is the "sponsors". They take a girl out of the market ( make the market less competitive), pay them well too much for very little service ( artificially inflate the price) and in return, they end up in misery most of the time because the girls cannot stay away from the lucrative market and the poor sponsor has his heart broken by lies and loss of money. Your idea's are basically sound for the guys who come over here frequently and goes back and see their regular BG. They will give a guy they like a long term discount.
Then again for the guy who comes here once and if he's lucky twice starts laying 5 to 10% tips and 100 baht for taxi. The BG come to expect it and will raise there prices accordingly. I don't tip and I don't take them shopping. I will pay for dinner, movie, drinks. One BG I see regularly who come down from Northern Thailand, I will pay 300 for a phone card so she can call her kids.
Case on point, Mexico for guys from the US USED to be a cheap place to have fun and guys would do what you recommend and give the BG tips on top of what the agreed price. Now it's almost as expensive as the US.
As anyone checked out the classified ads on this forum and seen the sky high prices these girls want to charge?
For some reason guys want to pay 2K and up for pussy. That's a lot of money in Thailand.

BigD is right. Mexico used to be cheap. I like Thailand because the 24hr travel time (from USA) keeps away the crowds (of Americans). I met a fellow from the next town in LOS and he said "LOS is great, when you go back, don't tell anyone how good it is" We should be thankful that 90% of Americans do not even hold a passport.
With taxi's I always round up a bit. This last trip one driver did not have change for 100 Baht (for B53 fair) I got change at the hotel and gave him exactly 53. Even the girls I was with said he prolly wanted the whole 100.

Yep!! Mexico is way over priced since the 80's from airfare, hotels/apts, food n drinks, P4P or unless you find female tourist from the northern climates.
You can go to Hawaii, Caribean, or SA for the same prices...... Nothing beats Southern SE Aisa and especially Thailand for all round cost variations.
You pay as much as you want or as little as you want for NEEDS and thats the beauty of it.
Get a FF milage plan and gather the miles up and after a few trips at $750 a pop you can fly first class. Three trips over per year should put you there. Then find a good 1 bedroom apt to invest in in a good area building in Pattaya or BKK and rent the heck out during high season to cover HOA/ monthlys and then you will only have to pay for P4P.
