I went out last night with the girl friend and the business partner for a few beers and he was a bit down hearted as it is his birthday on the day of the election and that means no going out and no buying of beers.
We did our normal try and get a game of pool in bamboo but the same 6 pro players got on to the table and no one can win as nobody else is pro player so everybody AGAIN! took there name off the boards for the table's. There are 2 guys ther that play with one hand all the time, I mean I am not a great pool player but I can hold my own, so playing in this bar when they get in is the same as throwing money on the floor, what fun do they get out of it as well, should'nt they be in a pool hall not a bar with a few tables anyway I divulge.
We had too much to drink etc etc. On our way back home, (Oh Nutt) we stopped off at a super market, still feeling like we wanted beers we asked can we buy and the staff said CAN NOT! which started off my business partner moaning again about his birthday etc.
I then asked the manager of the store I found hiding in the corner and this is the punch line of the tale, he told us that you can buy beer from a super market or any shop that you can buy in large amounts from in one purchase. We asked him to carry on. He told us that any purchase of over 10 liters of beer is classed not as personnel use but as hole sale thus you are not going to drink it, so you can buy it when ever. Well then all good news for the weekend.
So that’s my excuse for buying 20 liters of beer last night.

And the point of this witty little post is what exactly?
I think the point of people being depressed about bars being closed on Election Day is that the bars are closed, NOT that you can't buy beer.
Frankly, a day or two with the bars closed is not exactly a hardship, is it?

I for one thought it was an informative post informing his fellow BTF brothers that one can get around the "no buy beer during election" issue buy procuring large quantities...  .........

Exactly!
I think the point of scobie's post is that he probably responds in kind, after having waded through countless prior threads, of blokes bemoaning how they will suffer being deprived of beer for a day or so, during special holidays.
While I find UK Shaga's tale interesting and worthwhile as a neat way to get around this restriction by buying in bulk, have any of you guys ever considered just kinda like *preparing* for such events? I mean, most holidays or election days are known ahead of time, so purchasing the booze ahead of time isn't that much of a rocket-science epiphany, is it?
The fist time I encountered the 'no booze after midnight' rule, it caught me unawares, but since then I always make sure to stock up the fridge first thing in the morning, and by nightfall there's plenty of bacardi breezers and the likes in the cold-box should the girls want any.
And, lastly, Scobie's original statement stands on its own "Frankly, a day or two with the bars closed is not exactly a hardship, is it?"

Whatever you do, don't put the beer in that little compartment on the top part of your fridge. It gets really hard to get a straw through and has been known to actually break into tiny pieces on occassion.
Now maybe Daffy will tell us what he thinks we meant to say.

Once upon a time there was a forum. The idea was to get like minded people to share info. Then one day some people shared info and others decided that they didn't like it and would dump on the providers. Soon, many info providers got bored with these reactions and stopped providing anything. And the forum began to slowly die.
But this is not the end of the story. Many dumpers reflected on what they were writing and realized they weren't contributing but demoralizing both old and new info providers. The revelation had a life changing affect; now they encourage info of all sorts as well as respond with encouragement and support while reducing their personal criticism to PM's.
The forum once again began to flourish and attracted many old and new info providers. And they all lived happily ever after in the LOS.
