folks
went to bkk for last couple of weeks of july, and first couple of august, and now want to get straight back out there for another few days at least (fed up of london to be honest!) especially to Q bar, 87, and all that good stuff. Ŭany suggestions on where to find cheap cheap flights, leaving around middle of october...- i hear whispers of going via kuwait airlines - whats the score with that?
any advice would be most welcome

cheers

I've already posted information on such matters, not doing it again.

Have a look for the info....

I tend to use http://www.airnet.co.uk, always seem to do pretty good deals and as consolidators go offer pretty good service. ŬI recently saved £300 on my flight to BKK next month and they charged me no cancellation penalty because I rebooked with them.

Kuwait airlines normally do very competitive business and first fares, good service I have heard but as they are a "dry" airline no booze. ŬTo be honest if you are travelling economy, I would pick another carrier.

I travel business class usually and Finnair and Swiss tend to represent best value from the UK, since indirect flights have to be cheaper to get you to go through the aggro of changing planes. ŬEmirates also appear at the cheaper end of the spectrum, I am not a big fan of Emirates (in fact I think they are bloody awful) but plenty like them.

Of the direct flights EVA tend to be cheap, but not a daily service and standard econmomy is pretty basic, Evergreen Deluxe isnt bad value though.

Best advice is to check the consolidator ads in the papers and the big players like trailfinders, airline network, e bookers, travelocity, expedia etc.

A good way of really searching out a good fare is  hit a search engine like ask jeeves etc and do your normal trawl through the online travel agents. If you don't find a fare that hits the spot you can then start sniffing around foreign web sites - for example at the bottom of ebookers hit the German Site icon (you can display the website in English) and try flying fom Frankfurt. The fares are generally cheaper, and a flight to Frankfurt will cost you next to nothing - my other tip is get yourself a credit card that gives you air miles - hammer it and build up your points! I'm close enough to fly first class to Bangkok, and it's a good reserve to have up your sleeve for example at Xmas when the price of flights goes sky high!

Building up frequent flyer miles is all well and good, but only worthwhile if you can redeem them. ŬSeems to be nigh on impossible to redeem BA miles on LHR to BKK even for an upgrade. ŬIt looks like there is an almost 6 month period in whch airmiles can't be used on this route.

Not sure about other airlines, actually I would be interested in hearing, since I think the BA frequent flyer scheme will be as much use as a chocolate teapot when I am based in BKK.
