In reply to Bucksfun and his responce about airmiles - I used to make frequent journeys with BA once BMI reduced it's flights out of Belfast, but it seemed to me I'd have to fly to Mars in full economy just to get a sniff of a free flight out of them - So I continued to acrue my BMI Diamond Club points through flying with Star Alliance airlines, regular trips to Thailand etc ! Now I haven't actually flown on a destination free flight yet, but given the amount of Airlines you can fly with I should imagine there is less chance of getting a knock back from them - compared to BA - On the subject of BA, does anyone think they are a pretty shitty airline? Or is that just me?

I always find that a BA air hostess thinks she is superior to the customers - at the end of the day what are they? An airbourne waitress! Or is that just me - anyway who cares - I'm booked and inbound for Bkk for Xmas on Thai air - shit entertainment - but bloody good service!

Opodo are doing a good finnair deal at the moment. Its £371 from LHR to BKK via Helsinki. From Manchester its £373.
I'm intending to come out on Friday 28/11 and return on Monday 8/12 and they have availability at those prices then.
What a f_cking shame then that I've already booked with BA, and paid £470 for non-refunable , non-changeable tickets. I know BA will throw in the abysmal service and shit food and that, depending on my mood, I can ask to be be insulted or ignored by the cabin crew but not sure if this is worth the full £100 extra.

At the end of the day or in the case of this discussion the end of the flight - f_ck the airline - your going to end up in LOS and that would be worth a trans continental camal ride. The return flight back home is always the killer and that is where the airline sevice makes the difference! Has anyone ever flown out on a single and booked an open return out there, where the price of a flight is considerably cheaper? I've always cosidered doing it - but I'vealways managed to get a good priced return from the UK apart from xmas/new year when it could prove to be a bit risky with seat availability?
