About the tolls:
Bangkok Post, 26 August 2003:
"The Legal Counsel Department of the Office of the Attorney-General ruled yesterday that urban expressway tolls should rise next week under the terms of the concession awarded the Bangkok Expressway Co Ltd (BECL).
Chaikasem Nitisiri, the director-general, said the contract between BECL and the Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority (ETA) required a toll rise every five years.
As a result, the charge for four-wheel vehicles should increase from 40 to 45 baht, effective Sept 1.
..."
Not whopping, but we should note it, so nobody shoots a taxi driver for overcharging the toll...

Actually HS there has been a lot of toll reductions lately.....to go to my regular meeting (no...not NEP) it's now 20B cheaper than a few months ago.
Not sure which tollway the artocle applies to...but it's certainly not all of them.

Toll reductions?
Hmmm...this IS Thailand we are talking about, right?
Anyway, the article was a bit vague, but since one of the tolls from the airport has been 40 (the other being 30), I guessed it was going up. The company who runs the tollway want it, but some agency opposes it:
