bros Yep I know that it is sometimes tough. I find I get the best deal if I call say trailfinders, and just hang in there and move my dates to get the best deal. I usually fly from Manchester, and have never paid more than 550 GBP. But, yey, August is holiday time

poskat. You can try buying tickets here in the US but as I understand it you will be much better off buying tickets in london. They have a variety of bucket shops there and you should be able to get a flight to bkk for somewhere between 600 and 800 US. Even in the middle of July which is peak travel season. If you try to book it from here in the US you will probably have to pay $1000 or more. The UK punters should be of help on this. I have used bucket shop in london and gotten great deals on flights. But at the time (about ten years ago) I was not flying to bangkok. With the web you might be able to get some cheap tic from a uk shop but you will have to find the right one. I live in San Fransisco. There are shops here where I can buy $600 tickets to BKK and wind up on a United flight when the cheapest ticket United shows is $900. Over the web I have never been able to find a fare as low as the price I get from local bucket shops.

canomad Thanks for the suggestion. To use a bucket shop, do I have to be in London? Or could I contact them from the US? I'm not familiar with this. How far in advance can I get tickts from them? I was planning to call trailfinders/flightcentre in the next few days. Anyone with suggestions of shops for me? I also read here about buying a one way ticket and buying an open ended RT ticket in BKK. Any ideas on this? poskat
