Teach, I'll try to provide any info I know 
Forget about the K3, I can tell you now that it will be denied.
In the process of a K1 visa myself (different country), I can say that on average the entire process takes 6-9 months, but as always ymmv. Probability of success: 95%. There is no legitimate reason for K1 denial if your paperwork is in place & the intended marriage is genuine.
Process in a nutshell:
- You first submit the paperwork (I-129F) to a service center (there are 4 in the US - CA, NE, TX & VT).
- You wait until the NOA2 (2nd Notice of Action) is rcvd & your petition is approved.
- It is fwded to the NVC (National Visa Center).
- They then send it to the US embassy in which your fiancee resides.
- More paperwork is completed (by fiancee), interview date is set & she arrives at one of the US POE (point of entry).
- You are given 90 days to become legally married.
- You then file for Adjustment of Status, which is a whole other process.
All in all, the paperwork fees will set you back $200. The rest of the costs are to be considered personal (telephone, mail, airfare...). Not worth it to hire an immigration attorney, as the majority of ppl do it on their own. I can confirm that the process is lengthy & sometimes daunting, but not complicated to the extent of requiring legal services.
More $$ will not make a difference.

Teach, first Dragon is spot on. I have done the process several times (different story) and it works well, it is the last step that is a doosey, Adjustment of status will take > 3 years and that means no travel back to Thailand without more paperwork (Advance Parole document 4-8 weeks).
Krypto is right, I have been getting visitor VISA's for the purpose of training, but they have been all guys. I think the CEO would like a BJ queen to be send back for special training, but he is awaiting for wife approval.

Last week I sent off the I-129F package. It came back today REJECTED because the fee for application has been raised from $110.00 to $165.00. Back to the Post Office and back to INS with the right amount. I will keep you all updated as the process goes along.

I have received the I-797 Notice of action. Which basically means INS has my appliction and is processing it. In the letter they say it takes 30 to 45 days for this step.

INS sent me a response that they want evidence that my divorce is FINAL. I sent them a copy of my divorce decree in the initial pacage. But apparently 90 days after my divorce is final I can get a letter from the courts that it is in fact FINAL. So I will go back to the court and get the appropriate document stamped FINAL. I thought it was FINAL two years ago. I guess everything else in the package was okay.

Teacher 2 strikes already, Damn this is the easy part. best of luck.
I would recommend that you obtain all the paperwork neccessary on the Thai end and fill it out with your GF's help. These forms are trying even for a US citizen to fill out, so forget your TGF filling them out.
The best bet is you coming to Thailand to submitted the completed paperwork with her and accompany her during the medical exam required.
