I fly between Taipei and Bangkok several times a year and between Taipie and London once maybe twice a year. Most of these flights are with Eva in the Deluxe section, have have been upgraded to business for most of my TPE-LHR-TPE flights so for me paying the extra 100 quid has its benifits.
Though you must now take some care with your date planning as Eva;s new Airbus does not have a Deluxe section.
As my outward date could not be changed I bought an econ ticket and was going to use club miles to upgrade at the checkin desk, in fact I got a free upgrade which I was very thankfull for becuase if I'd had to pay for it I would not have been pleased. The seat are terrible and not a patch on the 747 seats.
The center arm rest is about 4" higher than the other rest which makes it uncomfortable, when you fully recline the seat it's still at quite an angle and the end foot rest makes the seat too short for me and I'm only 5' 8". During dozing you slide down your pants ride up and strangle yer balls. I will be looking for Eva's 747s flights for next year.
