Here is an update....
I took a private car (Volvo) from BKK to Pattaya (Jomtien) 1300 Baht and the same return trip only 1000 Baht. I booked the trip to Pattaya through a travel agent and asked the driver on the way there if he would be willing to drive us back to BKK. So if you call him direct it would be 1000 each way.
The guys name Khetrath Kehthum ( K-Tom) His phone

I had trouble at first tring to get a taxi to Pattaya. Everyone wanted 1500 baht. Then I found this guy. If you want you can get taxis from Payatta to BKK for only 800 Baht. Up to you.
His business card says Limousine Service so I'm sure he would be willing to do other trips.
