If you go directly to http://www.nwa.com (Northwest Airlines' site), you'll find all the info there. Use their "Shop for Flights" tool. But if you wannt the special $620 fare, you have to be aware of the restrictions. Outbound on a Saturday, return on a Saturday, using the Minneaplos-Narita flights as your transPacific leg. I didn't bother to check American Airlines because flying NWA has a lot advantages for me, but I think AA has the same deal during the month of October.

Evil, might want to make a call if you want exit row seats. fyi, the Airbus A330-200 which is the type of plane from Tokyo to Bangkok has AC power ports on rows 10-23 in coach class. Just bring your regular AC adaptor and you've got movies, games or field reports.

Thanks for the tip, but on the NWA site, I could choose my seats. I like to use NWA because I have access to their lounges.

I chose my seats during ticketing as well but could not choose exit row seats. Called and was allowed to pick my seats with exit row included. Usually the airlines will only allow you to do this at check-in. I've got exit row seats on every flight!  Did you notice the mechanics went on strike early morning on Saturday?

The mechanics went on strike early Saturday morning U.S. time. About 2 hours after I purchased my ticket. Hopefully NW can work out all the kinks or a settlement before I leave Oct 8. If not, I'll help work on the planes for free ticket.

The NWA strike hasn't proved a problem so far, the airline has had 18 months to prepare for it. Also, since the Asia runs are the most profitable, they are likely to be the last affected.
Doesn't matter to me that much, if NWA isn't able to fly in October, then I'll simply get a different flight. It's a vacation trip and my dates are flexible.

EP, spot on. Of all of NW's flights, they will work hardest to keep those internationals on schedule. In addition, mechanics have been outsourced for years on those Asia flights, so I wouldn't expect any disruptions.

Tangent, but why don't airlines just outsource all of positions at risk of strikes, and avoid such problems altogether...? Essentially "Welcome to Outsoure Air, I will be your pilot, Apu..."
