Expedia is the largest holiday company on the net and I have used them many many times with never a problem. IMHO you wont get cheaper. If you do let me know where and I will use them next time.

I'm flying from Switzerland, on 9 December.
I tried at my usual agents (kuoni). They were quoting approx. 850 GBP.
I tried hotelplan. They suggested I try directly with Austrian Airlines; hotelplan saw that they were sold out (which they said was strange).
Austrian Airlines had seats available, at 1100 GBP!
I then tried with http://www.hotelplan.ch; I found a seat, with Austrian Airlines!!, at 620 GBP!
I concluded that it is worth shopping around at all agencies and on the web.
(I checked Malev (Bulgarian) and Aeroflot, but their prices were as high as everyone elses.)

Well checked my usual route via Schiplhol airport and there are some good offers. Its not a problem flying over to AMS from UK just give yourself loads of time especially with sleazy jet who seem to get bumped from shedules all the time! And if you have hours to kill in AMS you can always check luggage and take a 10 min train ride to AMS central and get some good comapny for 50 euros!
Anyway, point is recommendation from a mate Ive booked Emirates LGW BKK rtn 724 pounds there is a stop over of 2 to 3 hrs in Dubai (may make it longer next time) but their economy class is meant to be better than most other business class. So I'm going to find out.
Will post out come, next year, happy flying.

thanks for all the advice, tried everyone and got this
oct trip 3 weeks thai air £ 450.00 some sort of special.
dec 14th thru end jan thai air £750.00 no special.
airlines are like p4p when there is not many people flying they drop the price, but when there is loads up the price goes.
just as well I get the miles and a compimentry upgrade soon.

the f*** they do. not easy to get an upgrade without spending your miles as business is all full of familly members.

Just back from LOS.
Booked on 11th Sept to fly on 16th, Manchester to BKK with stop in Amsterdam. Was 509GBP all up incl. taxes.
Flight was KLM to Amsterdam then China Airways. Last plane was 747-400 so you get your own screen in cattle class.
Usually I find best price is Manchester to Istanbul then on to BKK, all with Turkish Airlines, but not available this last trip at such short notice
