Delta, yeah they are (I just checked) two different airlines. But as bandit and Airbus said... and as the stats show.. China Airlines does have a very poor safety record, although for service and everything else they do very well. I THINK the poor safety record thing has been addressed in so far as... all the accidents happened under the old management... then they got a new crowd in and there haven't been any accidents since... BUT still the stats reflect their earlier poor safefty record. I figure I am still safer flying with China Airlines than I am driving through the city this evening. I can't open Thai Travellers link... I hope it's not a China Airlines crash landing.. lol.

China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines are both seperate and from the Mainland. ÝChina Airlines is not related to either above. ÝCathay Pacific is from Hong Kong (Hong Kong's flagship airline). ÝI fly Cathay Pacific to Bangkok. Dragonair is a shared network with Cathay that flies to the Mainland, but Cathay doesn't fly there...............yet. Gyaos.

I've been flying Chinese airlines for 6 years now and the best by far is China Eastern Airlines. Their prioces are a little higher than China Southern and Air China, but they have a betetr safety record and much better service and food that won't make your stomach churn when u smell it warming up in the kitchen. I've had problems with all 3 of these airlines though, but usually it is something to do with the airport or the gorund crew rather than any fault of the airlines' themselves. I once had a "direct" flight from Sydney to Shanghai which ended up taking 72 hours on 7 different planes from 3 different airlines.... i got a tour of 4 different countries during this "direct flight" all due to fog, snow and poor lighting on the runways. Just asa u guys sat "T.I.T" In china its' "T.I.C" Cheers (wow just realized its only 5 days until i'm in sunny LOS!!

X TT's link is actually Mandrin Airlines...its partly got to do with safety as well as customer service. Gyaos thanks for the tip...but the different airlines are kind of confusing but will get the hang of it. Metaliclink that 'direct flight' of yours could've been an around the world trip! anyways when are you going and for how long? i am leaving in 2 days time and will be there for 6 days!
