Flew KAL West Coast to BKK once. The trans-Pac leg was fine, the int'l transit lounge was full of post-Soviet whores, and the flight crew Seoul-Mango was stupid and rude. And they served the worst, girly-man kim chee you ever tasted.

Vancouver Jay, I assume that was not in the last 2 years. The new Incheon International Airport is a very nice place.

The layover is 12 hours... I opted to go in the transit hotel for 8 hours for 50 US or something and I still had 4 hours of nothing left. Incheon is a nice, clean, wide open airport but it is excruciatingly dull. There is nothing to do. I'm psycho. I did this RT twice to get my koreanair FF miles up. Madness... I've come to a conclusion that it's not worth the effort and I'll revert back to my previous useless FF program, JAL...

Thank you all for you help again. I just booked my flight on November 24th and returning on December 7th on United Airlines($797 Cleveland to BKK). I was able to get 19,246 FF miles + 20,000 Credit Card application miles through First Card for a total of 39,246 usable FF miles. I also was able to get 5,000 promotional miles for USA to Asia and I could double my miles to asia for an additional $100 making my total FF miles of 63,492 toward elite status but still only the original 39,246 would be able to be used for rewards (free tickets). Kinda screwy but I hope this helps some ppl on here. Another helpful item that I found was a great site that tells you which seats are the best on Airlines at http://www.seatguru.com I can't tell you how helpful that site is at times in making sure you get a great seat. Thank you all once again for your help with everything.

That Cathay Pacific Deal sounds good at first but then when you condsider that you do not get any frequent flyer miles, it does not sound that great after all. When I fly another airline I will then have a free trip waiting for me anywhere in the continental US. Unless you live in LA, or maybe San Fran it is usually not that benificial. I will say that the last time I traveled I used a buddy pass to get to LA, then I did use Cathay Pacific's All Asia pass. They have great planes, staff, on those international flights, I loved the individual tv screens and all the choices they give you to waste the time in the air away. I went on vacation for 3 weeks and I went to Hong Kong (3 days), Manilla (Angeles) for 5 days, Bangkok (4 days), Pattaya (7 days) and I loved every minute of it!! I would like to get back to Angeles soon, but I don't really know if I would want to be there for more than 7 days. Thanks, Doug I'll be flying into Bkk at 11pm on the 25th!!
