There are some cheap deals out there, but you have to dig. I've just got a deal for round trip to BKK on 03/06/03 with BA, plus 7 nights in the Landmark for £480 all in. The deal was made with BA holidays, but if booked directly with BA for same flights and hotel the price was just over £800. I also found out the flights I have booked, both Business and World Trav Plus are fully booked. So someone is still travelling to Asia.

Yurune, Out of interest, why do you prefer to fly Thai? I have flown London->BKK about 10 times, & have used Thai, BA, & Qantas. Now I would always fly BA, even if I have to pay a bit more, simply because you have your own personal TV with big choice of channels in the seat infront, even in cattle-class. Makes the 12 hour flight much more bearable. (Last time I flew Qantas & Thai, they didn't have such things - maybe things have changed since then....?)

for one BA gives none or 25% miles on discounted tickets & none points towards your tier status for sure & add to that no sense of service whatsoever - they simply suck with or without those pathetic screens in your face! now TG as member of the *alliance have always credited me full miles & tier status no matter how deeply discounted ticket(q/k/n/etc class) & do have some sort service level such as welcome drinks & drinks refill without having to trace down some service, where BA fails miseribly even QF does better! now TG fares selling at £376 on e.g. netflights.com helps too, but others feel free to choice say KLM or LH who goes for about same price, but obviously not direct from UK

How far ahead is it best to book to get the best deal? I assume you have to be in a period when airlines are releasing blocks of tickets and that won't be 8 or 9 months ahead. Also if booking a holiday with say BA Holidays do they sting you much for a single surcharge?
