sorry maschine, but my luck/unluck with BA/QF so far has been QF has given me slightly more leg room than BA, while all 3 (TG/BA/QF) offer unlimited drinks/snacks as do most airlines exclude americans & some muslim ones...
oh same with personal video players - most have it in coach these days nothing fancy anymore except if as big & as many movies on demand as say virgin atlantic

That's interesting.
The friend who works with BA obviously flies cheap with them but is not impressed.
Perhaps flying is a matter of luck ?
i.e Which crew one has ?
I flew Lufthansa in December and again in June.
December was much better ?
Anybody else pleased with BA ?
Their pilots and engineers are very good!

Thai do not have personal video screens which is bad on long haul and also their seats are smaller and more uncomfortable and leg room is less.

I've flown both Quantas & Thai Airways from London to BKK, and prefer Quantas as they have a personal tv screens\controller, Thai do not, Quantus have far better departure lounges at both Heathrow & Bkk, and more comfortable seats.
I did hear that Thai airways has slightly more leg room than Quantus but i didn't notice any difference, so i don't know how true that is?

Yes personal screens do make that 12 or 15 hour flight seem shorter. If you can sleep for a few hours you are a lucky one.
The only real gripe I have with the French is Concorde. They wanted to stop flying it so they made sure BA did the same. I don't think Sir Richard Branson can run it because Aerospatiale/Airbus have withdrawn support.
It is ironic since the French stopped Tony Benn MP from trying to cancel it in the 1960's.
Sad day when it finishes?
Then we will have the big fat Airbus A380 which probably wont have that much extra room 'coz they'll try and stuff it full of punters.

Thai fly an A-320 painted up in half a dozen colour schemes of Star Alliance airlines as segments along the fuselage - the only plane I've ever seen that carries logos and liveries of competing airlines. ŻLooks really great.
Having flown Thai from Taipei to London via Bangkok recently, I must reluctantly admit that it's become just another plain vanilla airline. Ż
They used to always have a little extra twist, such as giving purple orchids to boarding female passengers. ŻAll that has gone by the board, food was so-so, no individual screens, and the cabin staff were not even attractive (and that takes some doing when you're recruiting from Thai womanhood!)
While I can excuse an airline from not having personal video screens on some of its older planes, the B-777s I flew in between Taipei and Bangkok were obviously brand new, and had been ordered without screens as a cost saving measure. ŻBig black mark against Thai - I'll choose other airlines whenever I can.

Orchids available on my recent Thai flight, though of course that is no reason to buy a ticket with them...just a nice touch....
I have never had a personal screen on any aircraft ever....sad huh?
