I think I already know the answer to this, has anything been done to help prevent the airport(s) from being hijacked again, or can you still drive right in and flood the place with hungry protesters and let chaos reign
Getting ready to buy a ticket soon, got delayed 6 days in the last take over, not the end of the world, but don't want to do it again, it was just too f..king easy to take
Certainly a great bargaining chip for the dis-enchanted
Maybe the red shirts will give it a try next

They have made some slight changes to the drop-off area and state they are/have implementing tighter security to prevent such an event in the future...
If you believe that, I have some great swamp land to sell you as well 
Buy your ticket & don't worry about it. The situation is unlikely to manifest itself like it did before. And if it does, there will be plenty of shagging available at the airport

So, (as I thought) the answer is nothing, it was almost funny who was moving faster last time, the freeloaders coming in or security getting out
But as you suggest, get a ticket, there are options (when) if it closes again
Sex at the airport, didn't think about that, I'd prefer a girl in red

I was in Thailand from 26th December till 1st January.
Arrival arrangement is very good for a new passenger. But, please note that not all the hotels are listed there, if some one is looking for a selected hotel which he saw in the web site or Bkk to night column.
Visa arrangement is also very good on arrival passengers.
Escalators takes you to the immigration counter, not much of walk with your lugagge. But at the time of departure, there is hardly any escalator arrangement, when you need it really. You have to walk down till you find your selected gate number, and to reach there, one has to walk at least a kilometer with carry on lugagge. I dont understand, why they have not made it same like arrival section. Probably, the authorities want all departure passengers must have a look on duty free shops.... I cannot think any other reason for this.

Yes, and the airport can probably get more rent from the duty free shops that way.
That is the way it works in American grocery stores these days. The groceries are around the perimeter of the store, so you have to walk by all the high margin non-grocery stuff.

Suvarnabhumi is essentially (rather bad) department store that occasionally deals with planes. In fact, during the opening, Airport managers and administrators frequently referred to passengers as 'consumers'. Tells you all you need to know.
Now, if they had crap that is actually useful and needed, I might actually buy something once in a while, but the shops section of Suvarnabhumi is completely useless.

Last visit, actually bought something at one of these expensive shops... a couple of authentic Mont Blanc refills to replace the useless ones in the knockoff Mont Blancs that I bought.

Hi,
does it make sense to use fast track service when arriving around noon end of Feb? Had it once and it was quite good, however it was low season and earl evening. So there was not much waiting at immigration anyhow.
But I can remmeber times waiting at immigration for quite some time but that was back in don muang in the old days.
So any comments?
NB: has anybody tried vip fast track?

Not quite what you are meaning but last time I came to Swampyboom was business class on Thai. Turns out you can then use the diplomatic / aircrew channels at immigration which helped a lot. Not sure if this applies to all business class but I intend to give it a shot when im back in a few weeks.
