the SUVs newer airport national security is better than most USAs airports HomeyLands security.... PHX, LAX, SFO, SEA, PDX are my general travel flight hubs.... the Qs are ridiculously long...many travelers are late and miss flights... now with baggage fees many are haulin half their bathrooms and office in their carry ons which makes for scrutinizing security assesments... there has got to be a better way to security check people and get them moving along...

Report from Bangkok Post dated Wednesday 23.8.2010 :-

Airport Link opens Monday 23.8.2010
============================

The airport rail link is scheduled to open for full commercial operations on Monday, the State Railway of Thailand says.

SRT governor Yutthana Tapcharoen yesterday said the rail operations would be divided into ordinary and express services.

The ordinary service, known as the city line, would charge a fare of 15 baht and would make eight stops along the Phaya Thai-Suvarnabhumi airport route.

The express line would run non-stop from Makkasan to the airport and would charge 100 baht.

He said both services would run from 6am to midnight with a train leaving every 15 minutes.

Baggage check-in at Makkasan station was not available yet as the line was still being test-run, Mr Yutthana said.

He said the check-in service was expected to be available later this year.

The Airport Rail Link is now operating free of charge from 6am to 10am and from 4pm to 9pm.

... the new Suvarnabhumi Airport General Manager boldly stated a week or so ago that one of his first tasks will be cleaning-up the notorious Thai taxi mafia that has long controlled passenger ground transportation there... yeah, yeah, I thought... more Thai horse shit only Thais could possibly believe.

... I arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday afternoon and was stunned to see that the arrivals hall inside the airport terminal, just outside of the baggage claim area, was absolutely clear of any and all taxi touts... not one!

... went down the travelator to the ground floor, out of the terminal to the taxi queue, and into a waiting taxi, all in one smooth movement... no sign of any touts anywhere.

... get this... our taxi driver actually whistled happily, like he was in a 1950's Disney movie, as he delivered us to our destination... not a brand new taxi, but a clean, well maintained one with a nice fresh fragrance... no dicking around with a broken meter, didn't drive like he had a sub-70 IQ, no blaring radio, nothing... no bullshit, guys!

... if this holds up, we might be witnessing a once in a lifetime event, when the deep-in-their-bones corruption for which Thailand is so well known was for once pushed aside for the best interests of the people of Thailand... maybe the only time I have EVER seen that happen.

(... wonder how long this new Suvarnabhumi Airport general manager lasts... maybe he should run for Prime Minister)

Despite being a member here for a number of years, I find I can't now start a new thread, even thoughy I used to be able to. My own fault I suppose for not really being active enough. Anyway, this is why I have "hijacked" this one with a question which is:

Is it permissable to bring in "Vitamin V"; or more accuately, Kamagra, rather than buy in Thailand. I need a quick and accurate answer please - I fly in 10 days YES!

Is it permissable? The simple answer is it is easily done. If you follow the letter of the law it is a prescription drug even in Thailand so "technically NO without an accompanying prescription"

Not a big deal but.........

Of course, you can buy many places here (probably 80% fake but even at a Thai pharmacy "technically not legal"

P.S. Technically prostitution is illegal in Thailand.
