Perhaps I have got this wrong but I have been doing things very different when it comes to flying to LOS. My work means I have strange amounts of time off so thins works for me it might not work for all. I want to buy a 6 month open ended ticket. Here BA (who I hate as there service sucks and you can not get status unless you buy the most expensive ticket all the time DHU!) LHR to BKK what a joke on the price. TA LHR to BKK not much better. As my job involves allot of flying I always fly Star Alliance as was said before buy another on this thread, you can get to gold status very quick also I advise you get your card from United you get a little few extra things plus they have another tier above gold 1k premier which gives you more also. I buy a Thai visa from the UK then I fly in one time to BKK one way using miles, as I have a Thai visa I do not need a return flight if they stop me. Then I go to a travel agent when I want to go back home and get them to book me a 6 month open return from BKK to LHR it cost the same if not cheaper than the cheep deals you are chatting about and you can go back when ever you want and the return portion is paid for. Best deal from Thai airlines 6 month open BKK to LHR I got from a travel agent in Pattaya 327 pounds sterling

i went back to west/east in chiswick, got the oct trip for £450.00, but I now notice it is class W. class W and V only qulify for 50% of actual miles flown, However I fly around 60 k so can keep the gold with free upgrade return, and a birthday return upgrade if you fly in the month of your birthday. and in july for some reason I got 10,000 bonus miles which count towards your sttus. dec trip was £ 750.00, thats life I guess.

Larry the prices you quote sound typical for the big operators like Travelbag, Airline Network and Expedia. I took £485 with Thai for a trip out at the end of September through Airline Network. It was advertised a little lower but a credit card fee took it up to £485. I prefer to fly direct so Thai suits me. However, I see this firm (which advertises on this site - in the right hand margin if you look at the photos from the motorshow at the entrance page) has some low price deals. http://www.supertravel.co.uk/flightsearch.asp?source=google&gclid=CKfKmfD91I0CFQ4UZwodszrfaQ I just did a quick search with some dates and turned up a price of £381 with Kuwait Air.

I have flown cheap in July if you avoid the 3rd week when school's out, with Emirates via Dubai. Good airline with more than average service and 21/2 hrs strech of legs in Dubai int'l airport is a good way to go. 320 £ +
