I sent my TGF's cousin to the embassy to pick up the packet 3 and they would not give it to her or she went to the wrong place. So I emailed the embassy and got this response......

We do not have the packet available on-line or by e-mail.
If you provide the case number and name, we can inform you of the date it was sent.
Alternately, the applicant may pick it up, any afternoon, Monday to Friday, from 1 to 3 p.m.

My TGF is up in Uttaradit and cannot get to bangkok. So we will pick up the packet 3 when I arrive in BKK in Aug. Unless anyone else has any ideas. Is the embassy just being difficult or can anyone pick up a packet 3????
Cal I see your wife's sister picked it up. did she have to go at a special time or to a special place?

She just went in the Embassy to Window 5 and asked for packet 3 and got it. The Thai/Falang Forum has the packet 3 forms on it's website in both English and Thai.

All good info here.
I just thank my lucky stars that I am not a US Citizen. It is much easier at the British Embassy.
One other tip is if you have a US passport and go to the Embassy with her after some time resident here is not to show the original of your passport, especially if you have an ex-wife or children back in the States.
I know a number of US citizens who have promptly had their passport stamped REVOKED for default on child support etc. and been offerred a one way trip back to the States.

Woooah! Not everyone who has have an ex-wife or children back in the States has defaulted on child support or commited some other crime that would cause their passports to be revoked.

Bkk, the forms are just typical of any gov - redundant data fields across multiple forms. Very easy to complete, really. Took me less than 2 hours to type them up. They asked for the same data as the immigration people (Dept of Homeland Defense) did. All govs are the same...
And yes, since the "deadbeat law," any failure to provide federally mandated support for dependents will show up on a passport federal check. I see nothing wrong with it as the "deadbeats" are not doing what they should in the first place.
