How about a nice wool benie, a scarf, some mittens, and some Wal Mart thermals. TGs look good in thermies, esp w/o a bra. Don't forget some good wool socks.
When my ex-TG wife had her first winter here, she could not believe human beings wore coats that were so heavy and so many layers of warm clothing. Nevertheless, she did look good in the themies w/ her nipples perking out.

Glad to hear that you two are together. MY fiancee and I also arrived here last Nov. We are married and she loves it here. The winter has been very mild so a little snow and not too cold. 
We had our Thai wedding prior to her leaving but my office threw us a surprise party.It touched her deeply - a nice way to say hello.
At the office holiday party I wore a Thai outfit and she wore red Thai silk. She was beaming with the women all asking about her dress. My parents will visit us this summer and she wants to go visit them next winter - the cold in way upstate NY (Lake Placid) will be hard on her....
She helps with my beer brewing and I dig holes in dirt for her bulbs and flowers. So I now have 2 batches of Belgium ale and a fine Guiness Stout clone brewing. She has 154 bulbs hopefully growing and 170 "jiffy pots" sprouting around the house. I will sip a couple and think of the fine people I have met from here. Cheers!

Okay now for the rest of the questions. The green card is on the way from INS and we did the Biometrics and the fingerprints and have been scheduled for an interview in Sept. The "Request for applicant to appear for INITIAL interview" says...If you do not speak english FLUENTLY, you SHOULD bring an interpreter who is neither a relative nor an interested party in you application! My wife speaks a fair amount of english and has completed two semesters in remedial english. She is however by no means fluent. Are they talking about here being fluent in English. Brothers, have any of you been to one of these interviews and what was it like. Remember this process started in May of 2004. It is a long road. No Attorneys have been used. Please tell all!

I think she'll be all right if she can communicate, you'll be in there also and can coach her. I actually did a lot of the talking and prompted my wife on points to make. My wife and I went through this last October. After the interview the guy told us he was recommending green card approval. Three weeks later she got her green card in the mail.
The thing that turned the interviewer on was the orthodontic work my wife was having done:
1. Orthodontic Bills
2. Canceled checks showing payment by me.
3. Insurance payment statements:
A. She is on my Employment Dental Insurance.
B.Insurance is making payments on her behalf.
4. He could see her braces.
Remember all INS is trying to establish is whether it is a legitimate marriage, if true no problem.

Went t the interview on Sept 26 and all went fine. Now we are waiting for the Permenent Resident Card. The people at the interview are just tring to make sure that you are really married and you intend to stay together. All you have to do is tell the truth. It is very easy.

Usually, when I bring a BG back to the USA, she gets a first class ticket inside an extra large suitcase. The most important technique is to cut two large holes on both sides on the suitcasek, that way if the suit case is layed down on one side she has 50% chance of making it.

Well I'm happy to report that my wife received her Permenant Resident Card this week. It's all done. You can do it too!!!
May 2004 Started with I-129 Fiance Visa
Dec 2004 Interview at US Embassy in Bangkok
Jan 2005 arrived in USA
April 2005 I-485 Permenant Resident Application
September 2005 Inteview
Feb 2006 Permenant Resident Card arives.
Thanks to all the brothers that helped with their advise!
It is a long process but not very difficult. You can do it too.....We have been married for almost a year and things are wonderful. I have grown very fond of nam pla.
So what are you waiting for? It's almost like being in Thailand every day. If your wife divorces you, just go get your next wife in Thailand. Thai wives take very very good care of their husbands. It's the way it's suppose to be.

I do not believe she can get a US passport without citizenship which takes 3-5 years and depends on if Thailand allows dual citizenship.
She can have a re-entry pass in her Thai passport though which allows for her to enter in the Citizens/Residents line and avoid all of those idiotic 'Arrival USA' procedures...
