Been offered a cheap flight from the UK to BKK travelling via CDG then AIr France to BKK.
Anyone ever travelled with Air France and if so what do you think of them

Have used Air France on 4 occasions. IMO they are the poorest of the carriers from UK in terms of cabin comfort and food.
And changing terminals at CGD is a bit messy. In effect you have to come out of the arrival terminal and get a bus to the departure terminal.
But that said if you are getting a good deal then so be it.
What price have you been offered and from which UK airport?

I'm traveling regularly between BKK and Paris with Air France. IMO, it really depends on the planes they are using. Half of the time, it's some rather old boeing and comfort sucks big time. But when they use an Airbus 340 then it's fine.
You also have to take into account the risk of strike (this is France...) and the flight is usually a Paris-BKK-HCMC, with a regular risk of delay when the plane leaves Vietnam.

Air France is far better than other european carriers and good value for money from the UK.
Allow at least 1 1/2 hrs for connection at CDG from UK.
Usually on time from BKK.
With an agreement recently signed with the pilots, little chance of strikes in the next few months.
Don't forget to enroll to their Frequence Plus Programme!

flew them once or at least tried to fly with them, but never again. had a business class flight booked from saigon to paris via bangkok. arrived at the airport about 90 minutes prior to liftoff and they refused to take me with them with a full paid business class ticket.
put me on a thai flight the next morning and booked me in a shithole place called a hotel for overnight in saigon! needless to say i missed my scheduled meetings and had a huge f**k up with a client!
ah, monsieur pas des problemes, hahaha!
never again in my life!
P.S. even one of my best friends who is actually french does refuse flying with them! partly because the food is not to his liking, so much for the french delicacy on food!

this sounds like a typical AF horror story... I have heard so many of them that I probably publish a book about them.
the only reason i travel with AF is that I can get special rates with them. definitely not for QOS.
