Hi folks, what's the best way to get from BKK to Ayutthaya (need some photos for my grandmother... when I come back from BKK have to tell about some cultural acts;) )? Thought to go from Nothern or Northeastern Bus Terminal, but I didn't find a website about bus lines from there. Is there somewhere a time/destination table? Have some experiences with buses from Akamai Bus Terminal going to Ko Samet, so would find my way IF I would know that it is the right starting place. Or using a taxi: just take a taxi, ask the driver to drive to Ayutthaya, wait during the day, take me back? Won't he go mad hearing this? A friend made this suggestion but it sounds a little bit weird for me.

I think the one by the airport Monet ?? I know some people from Pattaya go up and go that way for a visa run. Over and back in one day. Guess you might want to stay longer though if your doing the picture thing.

Take the Oriental Queen to Ayutthaya, with a stop in Bang Pa-In. A bit expensive, but your grandmother will surely like the pictures .... Maybe you can shave your head and enroll as a monk ..that will impress her .....

Went there a few weeks ago with 2 TGs. They asked several taxi drivers for a good price, and we (me, actually) ended up paying 1200 baht for a 7 hour trip. The driver was happy to wait.
