I am traveling from Venice to Bangkok to Manila and back and am booking my flights through an Italian travel agent. All together price is Euro 1,050 for round trip. Does this sound about right? Also, would it be cheaper to get the Bangkok to Manila flight while in Bangkok or should I just go ahead and pay my travel agent for the whole trip. How much is average for a Bangkok to Manila roundtrip flight purchased in Bangkok and where might I go to purchace one in advance (i.e. travel agencey website). Thanks in advance for any responses.

I went bkk-manila return about 6 weeks ago and it cost 12000 baht, there were cheaper flights for around 9500b but the times did not suit me, so there ya go.

I have flown that route many times. The prices NM quotes are very accurate. But, since you are coming from Europe, I recommend you buy a Luftansa ticket that goes to Manila via BKK. With that ticket you should(?) be able to stop over either way in BKK for a few days, and your flight through to Manila is only a few dollars more.
First thing I would do is find out the cost of flying to BKK, and the cost of flying all the way through to Manila. If the added cost to fly to Manila is more than about B10,000, then you should wait to buy your ticket (onward to Manila) in BKK.

Just returned from a coupla weeks in Philippines. My ticket, purchased in Ptty was just over Baht 12,000 Bkk-Mnl-Bkk on Philippine Airlines with a choice of flights and great service on board - the vegetarian food was very good IMHO.
