I am aware that you can take an airport bus to the downtown area, but can you take an airport bus FROM the downtown area to the Airport? Can I get to the airport from Ekamai Bus Station? Thanks!

Yes, you can take the bus from the city to the airport. I think that they run every 30 minutes or so, maybe every hour. I'd be damned sure you knew when the bus was coming and be early for both the bus and the flight. These buses have an A in the front and are blue, if my memory is correct (maybe like A 103). Better double check at Ekkamai terminal first, or get your TGF to check for you.

The airport bus is more around 100 baht than a 10B bus. It's got aircon, a place for luggage and relatively comfy seats. The 10 or less baht bus you do get some looks. I used to take one from my language class on Silom back to Sala Daeng station (BTS). One thing is watch your head. If you're over 6 feet (1.85m) then you'll bash your head on the bars or the fans up there.

From Ekkamai the Airport bus is A3, which runs along Sukhumvit to the Expressway close to Nana. The fare is 100 baht one way and the trip takes about 30-45 minutes. The bus is just like a shuttle bus used by the car rental companies at US airports.
