I am fortunate enough to be able to get from Cleveland to LAX with a buddy pass. I see that flights on China Airlines are the cheapest (LAX-BKK). I need help in finding out if they are a good airline to travel with? There is a stop in Taipei. I could also spend the extra money and go with Delta Airlines but it is an extra $70. I am ready to book today so if anyone has anything to help me make this decision I would really appreciate it.

Well, China Air has one of the worst incident track records of any international airline and the food sucks. Other than that, it should be ok 
I never flew Delta, so I can not really compare. Personally, I would just choose the airline that has the shortest flight time and/or arrives at a better time in Bangkok (arriving at 1AM is not fun).

I agree that getting into BKK at 1am does bite the big one. But all things considered for about $600 I am there in as little time as with any other airline.

Delta is a code-share to BKK. You'll want to check which airline you are really flying (does it matter that much?)

China Air is fine I know many guys who fly them, regularly and enjoy it. Don't let all that nonsense about safety records bother you. Most of that is based on their domestic flights. You are a lot safer flying than driving. . .period.
Delta will be a codeshare and more than likely with Korean Air(which also means a longer layover in Seoul). You need to check with who it is. If you are a Skyteam member then the extra $70 will be worth the FF miles you will accrue. Now if you are not a skytam member but your ticket will have Delta flight numbers check to see if you can have the miles credited to NW or Continental.

As usual jjsushi is full of S**t.
One China Airways has no domestic flights, they are out of Taiwan (a little small for domestic flights), jjidiot was thinking of Air China who does have a spotty domestic track record.
Many companies in Singapore, including mine, will not permit us to fly China Airlines because of the track record. Hell some of the 747s they use are the same generation as TWA 800, that is over 20 years old. 
Bottom line, for $70, I would take Delta. That would get you to NRT and from there you would probably use one of their partners.

Can you ever correct someone without being a PRICK? You are correct that I confused the Air China with China Air. I can admit that because when someone is wrong they are wrong.
Even though I was wrong I know several people who fly China Air regularly to BKK and are members of the Dynasty program;they enjoy the flights as well as the service. The safety record on US-BKK flights is not a concern of theirs.
You are such a freaking loser and your posts speak volumes about you.

Actually no, being me does not suck. And no matter how many of your friends fly China Airlines it does not change the fact that many corporations have banned their employees from flying them. Nor does it change the fact that they have the worst safety record of any airline in Asia.
BTW: I have never attacked your Babewatch ladies. Suggest that you keep my GF out of it.
