Can anyone enlighten me regarding the law on bringing adult material, and paraphernalia into the Kingdom. I am not talking about illicit material, or that which is banned by just about every country. I believe I read something regarding this subject on the forum earlier. I tried the search engine with negative results.

By the letter of the law, most countries do not allow most forms of pornography to be imported. It would appear that export is not quite as big of a deal, except that you can't have one without the other. The only time I have ever been asked specifically about porn (by way of a sign showing various contraband that was handed to me) was when entering Japan, and they did search each of my bags and my person.
In general, I don't think you're likely to face prosecution for soft-core or similarly mild porn. However, hard-core printed materials or otherwise easily identifiable violations might present a much more serious entanglement. At any rate, you can expect discovered porn to be confiscated and lost for good. If you are seriously intent on moving porn between countries, I might suggest you either mail it (in the case of printed material) or use generic blank media for VCD, DVD, or VCR. There may also be more legitimate methods available if you are willing to work through government tape and other delays.

Sex toys (and anything concerning sex stimulation) are strictly forbidden in the Kingdom.
The webmasters of 'thaisexstory.com', who ran a postorder business from their backroom, were arrested and jailed recently.
They are easy to acquire though, through stalls on silom road (close to Patpong 2). But as said, highly illegal.

When visiting LOS back in September, I brought along a portable DVD player which came in very handy. It plugged right into the back of my hotel room TV. Porn DVDs (nang-bpoo) were packed among my music CD's and sex toys were packed in my tolietries bag. Thai customs never checked inside any of my bags. My bags were only checked once when I returned home to LAX. Hope this info helps....
