Dose anybody know if Emirates are going to rollover again their double air mile offer for online bookings. I have checked and believe it or not booking on line is the cheapest, unfortunately the offer ends 31st march and I intend to fly out in March and returning in April. That means as the offer stands at the moment I will get double on the outward leg but not on the return, as this offer has been running for some time now, I have been holding back on booking my next return to LOS for some weeks now in the hope that this offer will again be rolled over. Anybody got any inside info?

I was hoping the same grey dove but I dont think its likely. Emirates dont often have much in the way of special offers available at the moment (unlike the likes of air france, royal jordanian, eva air etc) and having spoken to the UK ticketing office I get the feeling that this deal (with its end of March travel restriction date) is unfortunatley as good as it is going to get.

"Emirates are cancelling flights and there is no compensation" Hi guys, Only 47days to go, LOS here I come, though I have had some bad news. Emirates had last November made big announcements that they would be running 2 flights from Birmingham every day, the second flight would be an evening flight, for me that was great news as I could get an extra day in LOS as my employer is not exactly generous with the holiday entitlement, so I booked a flight new years day. Thursday I get a call from Emirates, to say they will no longer be running the second flight and I was asked whether I wanted to: - fly on the midday flight (I will lose a days pay), - fly the next day (I will lose a day in LOS), - fly from London or Manchester (evening flights, but still I would loose a days pay and there was no offer to arrange or meet costs of transport BHX-LHR or MAN) or they would be happy to refund my ticket (yes they would be happy to refund my ticket, they must be well over subscribed on the one and only BHX-DBX daily flight for the next few months). I asked if I was to accept an alternative flight would it be an upgraded and was told no, I pointed out that I have flown with Emirates 5 times in the last 3 ½ years and hold a Silver Skywards card and still the answer was no, he could not do anything for me. I then said I was not going to make a decision at that time as I was going to see if the “Thai Airways offer of £409 was still available. Looked at TA’s flight, still available but it’s a midday from LHR, so I decide to stay with Emirates phoned the guy back yesterday, but defiantly no compensation or upgrade, after a lot of pushing he told me there was nobody authorised at Manchester (where he was located) to authorise anything and gave me the number for the customer care centre in London. I called the number given to me and there I found the proverbial brick wall, yes, I was hitting my head against this brick wall. Anybody got any suggestions???

Emirates are not an airline that upgrade lightly. Even if your a doctor (me), celebrity (shall remain nameless), professor (my boss) at the time of the SARS when Emirates were flying at 10% capacity on its Dubai to BKK leg and business class was empty they would not upgrade us for the extra leg room. I know that BA always upgrade at the slightest hint that they have inconvenienced any of their passengers. Thai airways hav even offered part refunds to me in the past. Being a silver skywards holder should have highlighted to them that your a valued customer but an organisation as large as emirates loses touch with what good customer service standards are when they begin to believe their own hype.

A bit OT but in my opinion Emirates are the worst airline I have ever flown, only ever flown with them in First but it was cock up after cock up. Even when I got back from my trip took weeks to sort things out. They offered me upgrades for my next trip, but I would rather take a boat (rowing myself if necessary) than give them another penny.

On the occasions where I have flown Emirates in Y, they've always had a problem managing bratty children. These kids run up and down the aisles, kick the backs of seats and shout/scream loudly. Emirates seems to attract parents who don't care about how their children behave. Nice equipment, in-flight service but really the above experiences I've had make me stay away (from Y at least)

Emirates... well? I went to SE Asia about 14 times last year, usually with Emirates. Chosen mainly 'cos the break half way in Dubai was comfortable. I fly from Manchester and Emirates prices are getting less and less competitive. last few trips I have been using China Airlines via Amsterdam. Food not so good but each flight has been about 150GBP less than Emirates. OK, I am always booking at short notice

I agree Dave. Once upon a time Dubai airport was a great place to stop in for duty free but it actually now has very poor duty free and I have found better at london heathrow. However for p4p Dubai has delights aplenty of its own without the need to go to Bkk so for this. Generally though I choose with price and am prepared to pay even a little bit more for emirates but they are sometimes asking much more than rival airlines. Depending on what offers they have on etc etc.
