Hi folks: Here I am asking for you advice. I am going to visit Bkk on Mid may want to use it as my gateway for further travel. I have been to BKK before but never thought of this while there so my question is not so much concerned with BKK and Pattaya. This year besides BKK I am planing to visit Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. I may have a total of 21 days. My itenary looks like: BKK -Enter and exit from here (stay as many days as I can) Pattaya- 3 days Cambodia (phon penh and Ankor) 3 days Laos (vientiane) 2 days Vietnam (Saigon and Hanoi) 3 days Here are the questions: 1) does anyone know and can recomend a reputable and inexpensibe travel agent that can offer some sort of package Air ticket, transfers, tours and hotel for those other 3 countries? 2) SInce I will be travelling a fair amount of time it seems to be a better deal to stay in service Apartments that I can pay for my actual lenght of stay and not over pay for days that I will not be in town. Do you know if the service apartment let you do that and do they let you store your bags for your next time you are in town? 3) Not my main reason for travelling to the other new countries but has anyone seen how is the P4P scene in those 3 countries? Thank you all for the informative replies! Cheers

5 places in 21 days? You will spend way, way too high of a percentage of your time on planes, in airports, changing money, packing, unpacking, etc. I think Padawan did all of these places on his last trip. He was here about 2-3 months. Pick 2 of the cities you listed (3 at the very, very most) and visit them. Do the others the next time you come. One more thing... Pattaya is of interest only to dive (it's not great diving but it is close to BKK) or to get laid very cheaply, IMHO.

Gotta agree with CG. If it were me, I'd do: BKK, Vietnam, Cambodia, and that's it. That even might be too much. I'd skip Vientienne and Pattaya; not so much to do in Vientienne (Luang Prabam, a World Heritage site, better) and better diving elsewhere than Pattaya (SCUBA diving, that is). The Cambodia leg can easily take you a week, Vietnam the same, so there you have 12 to 14 days gone, not much time left to enjoy all the stuff in BKK. Add on top of that a day or two of grogginess from jet lag, and your 21 days will zip by before you know it. Personally, I'd skip the serviced apartment and get a reliable hotel that will let you store your bags (they would probably do this for you if you stay with them on your return to BKK). It should be cheaper that way. Or simply pack light (I've been incountry on similar itineraries and never taken more than a carry-on. Doing laundry is cheap, and you can always stuff incountry. - Balls
