Hi:
I am looking for anyone that come from Vancouver-canada and that have being to BKK.
I am wondering if there are any brothers out here that enjoy of BKK lifestyle and can help me with this question.
Let me tell you the circunstances...
I have being in BKK a couple of times. Both times I have purchased some sort of package that includes
air-transfer-hotel w/breakfast and a couple of tours. The price I have paid before is almost 2K Canadian.
another time with a couple of days in Pattaya was about 2.5 K. Both times the lenght of stay was a week.
so if I wanted to see what kind of arregement other vacncouverites do for travel arragement.
I wanted to compare notes and find a better way to go. I have tried to get pricing for air+hotel and I can't
find any cheaper option. I am willing to forgo the tours as I have already
being there and I can get to most stuff by skytrain. As for hotels, I just need a clean, safe room close to the skytrain, NEP and some of the massage parlours.
If the hotel has a pool and safe in side the room and I am set. I am not so worry about the
transfers as they can also be arranged on the spot for a reasonable rate. Any thoughts are welcome!

I'm not from the West coast but the East coast of Canada so I'm not sure what the prices are out of B.C. but $2000 Cdn seems pretty expensive to me.
I wouldn't bother with the package tour deals. Hook up with a BG and go GFE with her. She'll show you the city and be the perfect guide for you. Cost effective and so much fun!

What about flying out of the US. I usally pay around $700-750 out of Philly. Newark and JFK are cheaper. I can fly from Newark for $560.

Forget all the other posts, I travel to BKK about 5 or 6 times a year from Vancouver and use the following travel agent a lot of the times, Travel Direct in Richmond, ask for Pat and tell her you wnat the "Chuck rate" to Bangkok. She will hook you up, 1.604.276.8393
I make my own hotel arrangements once I arrive in Bangkok and have never been stuck without a place to stay. Ruamchitt plaza, above the Thermae is not a bad place, you should pay MAXIMUM B900, tell them you want the internet rate and you might get it for less. Same in Pattaya, I would recommend the last hotel I stayed at in December but it burned down the day I checked out. If you need anything else PM me.
Try not to book with Air Canada if possible, Victor pulled the plug on his 650 million dollar investment on Friday leaving Air Canada tits-up, I just hope my aeroplan points don't disappear with Air Canada when it finally goes under.

I'm not from Canada, but have visited Canada many times. If you're looking for a cheap hotel or something reasonable, Honey Hotel on Soi 19 is 800 bhat, has pool, includes breakfast, close to Soi Cowboy, walking distance to Nana Plaza, near the Skytrain, but no in room safe. Never lost anything there. Manhattan Hotel is good at 980 bhat, has pool, buffet breakfast, but there is construction going on nearby. I've heard Nana Plaza Hotel is good and right in all the nightlife. Check out the hotel section for more information.
