Hello,
I will be arriving at 12 Midnight. Usually how long does it take for customes / immigration / luggage pickup?
Also, how long will it take for me to get to my hotel ( 13 Soi 15, Sukhumvit Road, ) from the airport at that time of night?
What can I do at that time of night? Or should I take it easy? Thanks.

The main bottleneck would be the immigration, which depends on how many people are ahead of you. If you have nothing to declare, you can just walk through the customs. If you don't check in any luggage, then you don't have wait for you bags. Again that's variable.
The taxi ride from the airport to Sukhumvit Soi 15 via the Tollway (expressway) would be about 25-30 minutes. If there isn't too much hassles, you could get in by 1 am. There is still some time to head out to Thermae or Soi Cowboy perhaps.

Approximate times are :
Immigration - 15-30 at that time of night,have your Landing card filled in beforehand
Baggage - 15 minutes
Customs - normally straight through.
When you exit into the arrival hall,turn left then go outside for taxi,dont take a taxi tout.
Airport to Sukhumvit - 20-30 minutes.
If you land at 12 then reckon on hotel by 1.15-1.30

I agree with the previous comments except that sometimes at that time of night there are several 747's that have just arrived, creating a real log jam at immigration and it could take even longer than 30 minutes. The good news is that, if you're really short of time, the back door of Thermae is a 10 second walk from the Manhattan Hotel.

I just came back from BKK in March, the total time to check thru customs, get baggage, change money, taxi to hotel, check in and then head to Nana was 90 minutes.
You should be able to make it getting in at 12:00 and still have a couple of beers and find a girlfriend for the night.

There is also the question of visa. If you do not need a visa(depending on the passport you hold) or if you get your visa in advance then this does not apply to you. But if you are planning to get a visa on arrival allow for another 15 to 45 minutes to get the visa depending on the line in the visa section. In this case you will need to pay the visa application fee in Bahts (I think it is Bt.300 but I could be wrong) For this you will need to change money at the exchange booth located close to the visa section. I presume that it will be open at midnight.

One bit of advise is yet missing. I always ask at check-in to be seated as near forward in the plane as possible. By this you can be off the plane before most of the other 300 passengers or so on your plane.
Also it is worth trying to hurry to the immigration desks. I not sure how busy the airport is at midnight but on numerous occasions, I have hurried and suddenly there have been 30 or so passengers behind me in the queue. I suppose this is 'cos many flights from Europe arrive early morning.
I realise these points may be trivial but when you have had an 11 hour flight, a long time in the immigration queue can be pretty frustrating, and the immigration hall always seems hot to me.
Manhattan hotel is listed as " guest friendly". It's in a good location so an update on friendliness etc. would be useful. When are you travelling??

A seat in the front is a must on any international flight. The rush at the immigration desks can be frustrating sometimes.

If you happen to be really late. Have no worries, since you can always take short ride to Soi 3 and check out Grace Hotel. At least you can still get some beer (and girls) there.

Thanks bros for all your coments and suggestions. I still have a month to go before I come to BKK. I guess I am doing my early homework!
I will arrive on May 9th. I don't think I have to worry about visa, since I will be travelling on a Canadian passport. So, if all goes well, I should be at the hotel by ~ 1:15 AM.
Btw, Abe Snakes, how do I get to the backdoor of thermae from the hotel? I wil definitely post a review of the hotel. Thanks again everyone!
