Hi all! Well, my firned who wanted to go to thailand, but then backed down informed me that he bought a ticket, and he now wants to go, which is cool, because hes a good hiking friend of mine in PA. But, one major problem. He never applied for a passport! Is there a way to get one ASAP??? I live in USA, Pennsylvania, so does he. I see there is a site that does "expedited" passports, but there is no way to contact anyone, just automated sh_t over the telephone, and its a paycall! He needs to get it all done in 25 days... is it possible? Any help would be amazing.

Maybe your friend can call 1-800-870-3676. This should be an Immigration number. I got it from a U.S. border guard at the U.S.-Canadian border. The guys answering the phone should at least know who to contact if they are not the ones issuing passports.

go to your local post office, bring a copy of the itenerary or ticket and ask about an expediated passport. You'll probably pay ~$100 or so, but you'll get it in time. Only Takes about 1 month at normal speed anyway

Not 100% sure so I don't want to say Yes, but it may be possible IF he sends everything out on Monday. I was in the same situtation and it came back just in time to get my Chinese visa too. Make sure he gets the Expidiant (sp?) service....the extra fast kind. Go on the website, print and fill out the forms, get the pictures. Only certain places you can drop the app off. I had to run to the bank across the street because they didn't take cash and got a money order (for free cauze I didn't have enough for both). I also attached a hand written letter stating that I "really needed" this passport before _________. Good Luck!
oh yea, have the forms sent OVERNIGHT there and back.

If you go in Monday, pay for everything in cash, get expedited service, and next day delivery, you could get it this Friday (if everything goes good).
When I did mine. It got there Monday, and I had it Thursday morning. Cost me $185 total for everything at the post office.
As I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to BKK or not, and then the airfare was right, booked it, and got my passport, and now just waiting to leave in a few days.

last year I received my passport within two weeks with the fast service program. like the other gentlemen have posted it is possible. you should get on the ball tomorrow though. get your passport photos taken at walgreens and then head to the passport office. good l
uck. just remembered passport offices closed monday because of holiday.

Actually, they allow you to take a digital picture and print it on photo paper if you wish. That's what I did (for free). I believe it has to be 1" X 1" or something similar, isnt dark or blurry then there shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks alot everyone! I gave my friend this site, and relayed your messages to him. He is going to do everything Tuesday, since everything is closed today (ironically)....and right before he got off the phone with me, he tells me.... "now all I gotta do is find my birth certificate, and I have no idea where that could be"....LOL...man,...some people. hahaha, but anyways, thanks Bros!
