I always book with TRAILFINDERS.
and you can try THOMAS COOK.
Either of these 2 usually have best price tickets.
If you are flying from manchester, Emirates is the best airline, IMHP, since you would get a break in the flight by changing planes in Dubai, about halfway.

It depends on the country of the airline. I know my carrier Northwest gives 100% on any fare unless it is a group type of fare. JAL however will only give you 70%of the mileage on a discount ticket. The trick is find an airline you like, with a kick ass FF program, good service to Asia and STICK WITH THEM.
BTW I have never paid more than $697 for a round trip ticket to Bangkok from NYC. Do your homework.

Best price I've ever got was $721 with UA from Philly. Looking at the other airports ie: JFK, EWR, BWI, DCA tough to get bargins with UA. Sometimes I can hit the sales. I do try and travel in the off season.

I agree with everything Dave says... Emirates are very good and have really brought their prices down, about the cheapest quality airline you'll find, also good and usually competitively priced are KLM and Lufthansa (avoid Air France, they're really crap). I normally fly from Manchester and, as Dave indicated, you're looking at £500 or thereabouts. Trailfinders and STA Travel are both good places to book flights, but their travel insurance policies are really expensive. Most northerly international airport in Thailand is Chiang Mai (a cool city to kick off a visit), you can fly to Bangkok then get a connecting flight on Thai Airways for around £35. Db.
