I would like to bring my TGF to Australia on a three month tourist visa. I have checked the visa requirements on the Australian Embassy website and they seem reasonably straight forward. However there is no indication of how the Embassy actually evaluates visa requests and how they view requests from bar girls (no doubt negatively). Has anyone had any experience trying to get a tourist visa from the Australian Embassy for a TGF? Any suggestions on how to maximise the chances of success would be welcome?

Probably less than 50/50 if she can not prove she has a good job, money in the bank, credit card etc - anyway will msg some ideas to you -

I sent my GF to Australia before month and half.It wasnt easy,you need to prove that you and your GF have well based relationship, show pictures with her and her family.You must put about 100.000 bath in her account here and show it to embassy.You must sighn on statement that you will provide all her needs while in Australia.Show them your account too,and transaction to her account.It will be f_cking head ache my friend.I'm sure I forgot something but they will remind you....

Thanks guys for the information. It really is great to be able to draw on your experiences with embassies and your local knowledge. I know how arbitrary embassies can be in the way they interpret the "rules" in any given situation. The only way to improve the odds seems to be to be very well-prepared and know in advance what criteria they are going to apply.

Lefty. OK I am English an you are Australian so things may be different.
A couple of years ago, A Thai office girl did me some favours. Business, not sex.
She wanted to visit UK for holiday and asked me to help her.
1. She had money in the bank
2 The Brit embassy wanted all my financial statements, and those of my own company.
3. A company in London, who I do a little consultancy work for, offered to provide accomodation for her and formally sent a letter to the Embassy.
Still no visa. I seemed to comply with all the financial requirements
Looking back, the one thing I didn't do was go to the Embassy with her to attend the interview. Her English was OK, but if a native English speaker wants to confuse somone then they can. As you say preparation is everything and help at the interview is essantial, I think

Great suggestion - all I need is a few fake Olympic medals for her (in some suitably obscure sport) and we would waltz through the visa application process. Now if only she could play cricket too... they would probably fly us home first class!!!

Just collect all the pappers you can find and pray.....
BTW,it doesnt matter if your GF speak decent English or not, cause receptionists are Thai.
