Hi, I thought for a change on my forthcoming vistit to Thailand I would like to do a tourist thing and take a trip to the River Kwai. I have visited the Bridge a cxouple of time before so I thought I would take a relaxing couple of days and do the overnight thing staying in the oil lamp hut along the river. Can anyone recommend this trip and who should I book though, how much should I be paying and where exactly do you stay. Thanks in anticipation of your help. Pat

PatK, I checked the list I got from the agent in BKK who is taking care of my hotels and transfers etc... and his price for the multi-day tours to River Kwai are as follows - 2 days/1 night 2,850bt (single supplement of 450bt) - 3 days/2 nights 3,850bt (single supplement of 800bt) That's including transfers from and back to BKK... departure at 6am on day 1 and arrive back at 6pm on day 2 or 3. and if I understand correctly the accomodation is "Floatel" (jungle raft) ??? I 'll see if I can find more details on the hotel... 'cause he assured me all the trips were inclusive of minimal 3 star hotels with airco.... can a floating raft have airco ? hmmmm

correction: 3 day/2night tour is inclusive lots of other things as well as transfers and accomodation... the floating market (Damnern Saduak) then on to Kwai with a trip to Erawan waterfalls, trips in a longtail boat, trip to some caves and a trip to a Mon village... - night 1 in River Kwai Village Hotel and night 2 in Floatel (River Kwai Jungle Rafts Floating Hotel - which doesn't have electricity in the evenings)

interesting Yurune, this one wants 4200bt for a 3 day 2 night tour - and thats both nights in the Floatel. but it was interesting to see the inside of the rooms in the Floatel, they are really very nice. I've never slept in the tropics without atleast a ceiling fan... no electricity would be a MAJOR Bridget Jones in Thailand experience for me I think I'll do this trip on my next trip to LOS - well 2,850bt version from my agent. PatK if you're there before me please report back on how it was. (I'll do likewise)

hello all, I'll arrive tomorrow to LOS !!! may someone suggest if it's better to book an internal flight form BKK to Samui form an online agency today or it's better take the ticket in a travel agency in BKK? and if I have to go in a travel agency, what is the best one (I'll stay in suk area, so if there's one closer, will be better ) ?

Book it at the airport when you arrive.. At least that is an option. On Sukhumvit am using AW Business (at least that should be the name...) located on Suk. Soi 11.
