I may have to go to Korea in a few weeks and I am sure I could convince some TG to take a week off and visit me there. Anyone ever taken a Thai National to S.Korea before, what are the visa requirements and other details? Appreciate in advance! Thanks

i know of one tg who went with her sponsor for a short trip to south korea. i can ask her if she needed a visa for s.korea as i am not sure if a visa is required!

Hey Griff: That would be much appreciated, can you find out if it was easier that she traveled with him? If a girl travels alone, will they give her a hassle at Customs, etc? What type of info will she need (RT tix, address of place staying, name of person in KOR she is visiting, etc). Thanks

I have taken two Thai ladies several times to South Korea. There is no visa requirement if she stays less than 30 days. However, the Korean gov is very sensative about young Asian women coming there and violatinbg their visas so you MUST go with her and assure the immigration person that she will not violate her visa. They may write your names in eachother's passports and want to see that you will leave to gether.
Both girls havce had great fun here and it has been a very different experience when they are away from the pressures of other Thai ladies and get to relax with you.

I would think that TG's would stand out in Korea, being such a homogeneous society. What happened to "when in Rome...."? Aren't there beautiful Korean ladies in Korea? I just don't like the cold weather. I love the tropical atmosphere in BKK.

Yes I brought one over here for 15 months . Same one, for 3 months on and one month off.
The guys are correct although if they let her through she will probably get a 3 month visa. Korea and Thai govs have this waver agreement, no visa issue in Thailand and they get 3 months here.
The problem is the airport immigration officers are very tough arseholes on the thai ladies and racist.
They are also sensitive to asians coming through Incheon collecting canadian passports and heading of towards USA. USA gov made a formal complaint. This actually happend 18 monhts ago and they tightened right up.
Some important points if you want to get her in through the Korean arseholes at the airport (KAI), as mine was sent back with 4 others thai ladies on the first try. I forgot to come with her. Email me and I will give some history
Many Thai girls (if unaccompanied and even if accompanied) get actually sent back at the aiport by the KAI, particularly if,
1. They are young and good looking- dress down consevative and f_ck all makeup.
2. They try to enter alone- You must be with her
3. Their passports are new or thin in visa stamps to cpintires outside of asia- If a new passport forget it 10% chance of getting her in.
4 They fly in on SQ880 (any day) or Thai direct flight on a Monday or Friday. This point came from a Korean Immigration officer.
5 They are on a plane load of Indians & Pakis, hence stay away fron SQ880. You must have seen all these characters pulled to one side at the airport immmigration.
If they are suspicious they send back, not one but the group from the plane.
Also you moght consider flying Thai airlines, via Hong Kong with a one or two day stopover in HK, coming into Seoul on a Sunday afternoon.
No bullshits, personal experience and also my mates had the same.

CraigOz is correct. Koreans are very conservative on some things. Dress well, she should wear little to no makeup, you shouldn shave and wear a nice shirt. Don't do a lot of public touching when near the INS pukes. koreans look down on that. If he comments to you that many young women break their visas, speak politely and calmly and look them directly in the eye and assure him that she will be with you and will not violate her visa.
I have taken Thai, Korean and SG flights and my GF and I have not had a problem, but it is true that once she has gone and left without incident, it is easier.
I have never known a Thai girl to get in alone and in fact a TG married to a Korean was refused entry wehn she travelred to him alone.
Thias mix well in Korean society. In fact they are often mistaken for darker-skinned Koreans. My GF enjoyed her trips here (I am here now) and looks forward to them.

No I am up in Seoul. (You know the shithole north of Osan and south of the Nukes)
Only go to Osan once every 2-3 months.
