I hear there's a mini bus (van) that leaves from nana hotel 3 times a day to Pattaya. I also hear that they pack you in like sardines. True? and how much is it?Don't think I really want to take the regular bus or train, but what are some other options of getting there. I've heard of taxi and even limos. Can you guys help me out with some info and costs.

there are taxi's, and also Nana has cars right out side that will take and come pick you up. They charge one way about 1200 ti 1500 bht. Mini bus I dont know, but you can ask there in the lobby before the elevators. There is a tours & travel booth there.

We did the minibus thing from Pattaya to the Grace Hotel (near the Nana). We were packed in sooo tight, it was practically unbearable. Thankfully, we got chatting with a couple of guys and it made the trip go much faster. It was about 1 1/2 hours of sheer torture, but if you can chat it up with some people (providing they speak English or your home language, or even one you've learned in school) you certainly can't beat the price! I think we paid about 600 baht for the two of us.

well, i guess what you are meaning is the shuttle sevice the next hotel after nana does provide to its pataya branch. this shuttle is "free" but you will have to book into their pattaya hotel at least for 1 night. i do not remember the name of the hotel have to pass by the next days. but it is easy to find just walk past nana hotel into soi 4 and you will find it, again next hotel after nana into the soi!

I take the regular bus from Ekamai.. B30 to take BTS and B100 for the bus .. then B20 from the bus station in Pattaya to or at least near your hotel..
Save B1,000 and it is not crowded.. if lucky you will meet a girl on the bus ..
Coming back, pretty much the same scenario, except when you get back to Bkk, get off at the On Nut station and take BTS back to Nana or wherever ...
Maybe 'tao hua nguu' should be "tao kee niaw' (stingy for the new folks, literally "sticky shit") or as my g/f says "tao prayatt" (thrifty, which is better)

Hello all -
I took the bus from Ekamai station to Pattaya in March for 90B; a cheap ride indeed but I found the seat to be excruciating. Also I had already thrown my bags under the bus, and when I got to the door the ticket lady said "no, next bus" and it was a mad scramble to get my bags out again!
The next bus left in about twenty minutes, I think - I know it was very busy because of a music festival in Pattaya. I seem to recall there only being two of us farangs in the bus.
On the way home I splurged on an air-con car for 1100B - much more pleasant!

The hotel is called Dynasty Inn in BKK, and Dynasty Resort in Pattaya. BKK branch you wont like, and Pattaya branch You will. Only it's a good ways up the mountain wich means far from the action...

Yep I agree with some of the chaps above regarding the bus service from the Eastern Bus Terminal to Pattaya.
For around 100 Baht this was a pleasant enough journey. The amount saved compared to taxi or limo buys Long Time for one night!! I returned using the shuttle bus service and this was nowhere near as comfortable as the regular bus.
I do not believe the train is a viable option.

I've probably taken every means of transport and I have to say The Ekemai buss is perfectly fine. I don't like taking my bags on the sky train so I take a taxi to the bus station.
