Do any of you knowledgeable forum regulars know if there are any flights from Bangkok to Mae Hong Son? The internet is not providing the information I require.

Not directly. You will have to go via Chiang Mai and change planes there, its a ATR72 or something, propeller type, like the ones that go to Koh Samui from Bkk

Thanks, JHJ. I am considering taking my Thai fiancee and my 22 year old son up there for a couple of nights to have them see the long neck village and perhaps ride the elephants while there (weather permitting). The last time I was there we took a private car from Chiang Mai. Damn, what a long ride and a bit dangerous with all the buses and trucks. I assume Thai Air has the flights to Mae Hong Son????

Yup they do. I would recommend Pai as well. I think its halfway between Chiang Mai and MHS and only reachable by road.
Quite a charming place and not as yet caught up in the rush for progress.
Theres some pretty interesting river rafting to be had in those parts as well as the attractions you mention.
